Sorry, we have one player under 27 years old and Indy has only one over it (Taken from broadcast today), we are the oldest team in league history.
I know some of you are feeling empty tonite but its well into the month of May and knicks are still playing.
One game at a time, just one game. Odds are low, but we not done yet.
Knicks in April may have been the best team in the NBA. Knicks in May are the worst team playing.
Agreed. We got to the second round of the playoffs. Second round! We were one of the top 8 teams, prob the third or fourth best in east. Come on now.

we always said, ECF AT LEAST, but it does not look like we can do this,
no positives to my mind,
IN FACT IT CAN ONLY BE A NEGATIVE that they got to 54 wins and were bounced out like this, because this is a wild inconsistency, a fluctuation between two extremes without balance, and you just can't trust a team like this

I never said ECF for a successful season. I think this season has been a success. I am a bit disappointed that the Knick's blew an opportunity to get to the ECF due to being out-hustled and out-coached.

yeah and no. Melo just can't perform at a high level during the playoffs. It's sad because the philosophy was right (2 allstars), what we (the knicks) got wrong is/was the players. I am on record here wanting to keep David Lee over Amare. Amare was a mistake but, NY was desperate to make a splash and I will admit, I was even fooled by all the feel good moments his 1st season.
Melo should be in a Scotti Pippen role with a dominant allstar for him to defer too. He should not be the first option on any team that want to be truly great.

Are the Knicks still the oldest team in the league after jettisoning Rasheed and KT40? We replaced them with relative youngsters Q-Rich (33) and Barron (31). Let's see, that brought us down to around 30.5, down from around 31.5. We're still the oldest team in the league, unless a bunch of Miami Heat players also had their birthday (average age 30).

the problem is that we don't have winners on our team
I always thought, being a veteran team, we'd step up come the playoffs- never thought we'd shrink like a bunch of scared kids. Such a bitter, bitter disappointment.
The season has been a success,given the construction of the roster. It's just that with the way the team played down the stretch of the regular season, they got our hopes up (mine anyway) that they could at least make the ECF.
I thought we had enough talent to win it all this season.
Until Rasheed then Felton went down, that was a major blow.
Rasheed was able to hide Chandlers flaws.
Amari and Melo hurt our chances as well. Adding them made it difficult to build a solid team around them. Amari was an injury waiting to happen. Melo is very difficult to build a team around. Both players took the money first, then thought about championships second.

Lebron, and the 3 ladies....teamed up and took an early pay cut, with the intention to win championships, and not dollars.
It was fools gold from day one....But as loyal Knick fans, we were all fooled.....
If they really want to win a championship, they will get together (Melo, Stat, Chandler)....Restructure their contracts, and make room for Chris Paul. Otherwise, this will be the beginning of a very slow decline, until these major contracts are off the books.
Just look how good Felton and Chandler played, in spurts during the season. Those are the positions you build around. It's hard to build around Melo and Amari, if they are your best players! Unless they were on the same level as Kobe and Lebron, it doesn't work!

they don't have to win it in the sense that they will be eliminated, but they have to win it in order to advance--- they have to win a fourth game.
It's not over yet. Knicks still have a good chance to win. Just play harder and smarter. Don't get good shots, get GREAT shots. Have Great Ball and Player movement, Drive and Kick and really talk on defense. NO DOUBLES! Just play man and dig but don't over commit to help and leave their perimeter guys open. I think this team has been on the verge of breaking thru but just need one more timely shot to get it going. They could get that tomorrow.
