nice was of misrepresenting my post. I didn't specifically say that his NOT playing Barron was evidence of a lack of adaptability. I said the guy could be useful with the pic-n-roll I asked why is Q, Barron and Camby rotting on the bench and I stated that this coach seems to have an inability to adapt.

Also, you can sometimes counter poor play by benching the players playing so poorly. At that point, you go to your bench and see if any of the other guys can give you something. Otherwise, what is the use of even having them on the bench.

If I remember right, didn't Vangundy bench his entire starting unit, during the game for a lack of effort.....And replaced them with backups?
Thats the kind of coach we need. Somebody not afraid to send "in game" messages to his team. Yelling at JR during the game isn't working. Make a move Coach....Thats why you are here!

Or sub in Barron at center.....Anybody thats a threat from the outside, should've been in the game......Especially when you have shooters at the center position. Rasheed Wallace was Woodson's favorite, and his injury was the key to our success. That regular season run was fools gold. Wallace should've been on ice all season, just to play Indy!

When a coach gives up on you and plays a guy who was only signed in case the other 40 year olds break you quit on him. Thats the league. Then you get fired and dont get another head coaching job. So be realistic. Thats why what your suggesting doesnt happen. You play on a team? How would you feel if you coach benched you in a slump for some donkee like Earl Barron? Your done with that coach. Thats how these players are thats why coaches dont make the changes your suggesting. Cmon man

My last word on this subject is: Why does he have guys on the bench if he's not going to utilize them. If the players on the court are dogging it, you replace them with those on the bench. This IS basketball 101. It's so simple even a Caveman would realize it.

My statement is silly because so is yours. Thats the point. Could he? Yes. Does it make sense? Not at all. And if you cant get with why it doesnt make sense your not familiar with how an NBA roster is constructed or a team is run.
More Copeland? More Novak? OK.. I agreed with another poster on that one. Those guys have helped at various times. Earl Barron? He and Q were signed to be warm bodies in care JR and Kidd are drunk, KMart and Camby are broke, Prigo defects to Cuba and bla bla bla.
Yea.. Earl Barron. It's so simple even a Caveman would realize it.
I'm going to sign off on this thread because it looks like it might become contentious and I promised myself I won't let a thread piss me off. Its not relevant enough in life for that and I doubt we will come to any agreement on this.
