Knicks · GAME THREAD: THE NIGHT MELO PUTS HIS LEGACY IN CEMENT--- EPIC SHOWDOWN INDY NEW YORK, NO YELLOW SHIRTS WE ARE NOT WEARING THEM (page 45)

One thing tho..Have to say Melo has grown over the season...There were about 5 silly shots he took at the beginning of the season per game...Those went away but he was still forcing the issue in certain instances ...The last few games tho, I have to say he has let the game come to him...Maturity?...don't know...something to look forward to next season...

he always says he feels like a beast. it's easy to feel like a beast playing one on none.

Maybe we can get Walsh to come in and clean this mess up.....oh wait!

That wasn't a smart move by Melo, all series he's been rejecting him at the rim stubbornness isn't smart. He could have pulled up or dished to somebody for a 3.
OK guys....here it is. You judge. While Hibbert's hand makes contact with the ball before the basket, the ball is clearly over the space above the rim when Hibbert knocks it away. I think it is fair block because hand on ball supercedes his hand is over the rim. Not 100% sure.

He had a bad game tonight, but he was on of our best players in the playoffs. Keep the blame focused on Kidd, Tyson and JR- they gave us NOTHING this series
playoffs
Felton started of the season playing. Once December hit, he disappeared. He had a couple of good games against Boston, but than that. He is just an average or below average PG, and he is a huge cry baby. It hurts to say it, but that is my opinion.
Ha- you have a strange perception of recent events!
How did Lin do these playoffs?
No one is talking about Lin. I am not a Houston fan. Felton didn't play well beyond December this season, and had a handful of good games this post season against Boston.
Look, that's blatantly untrue- if you were paying attention during the win streak you'll have noticed Felton making timely hoop after timely hoop. Apart from 2 games, he played well vs indiana too. He started the season well, started playing poorly once his hands were busted, then took a while to get back to playing well, but he was great the last month of the season.

I guess not!
I thought melo played a great game. Gave it all he got. I have not problem with his effort.
Just his skill set and his stature among fans he is a superstar.
Superstars do superstar things.
Durant is a former MVP and been to the finals. Thats a superstar thing.
We had a great regular season and went one more round than the Nyets and Denver.
Feels kind of cheap don't it?

His rotations and defensive plan has been terrible all series. I place this on his shoulders.
They get tired. THey played hard. Shump is known to get sloppy when tired. C'mon, they got gassed anyway. we all saw it.
can't play guys until the drop.

the regular season he shot a 56%TS compared to his career average of 54.5%TS. an improvement yes but far from elite, which begins at around 58%TS
the playoffs he shots an abysmal 49.7TS% which is below his lousy 51.3%TS for his playoff career.
2.53:1 is the ratio of his usage to the number of assists generated for teammates while he was on the floor. it's way too high when you consider he averaged 2.6 assists per game this season.
2.68:1 is the number he sunk to in the playoffs, with a pathetic 1.6 assists per game.
1) he needs to improve his scoring efficiency 2) he needs to improve at getting his teammates involved and engaged so they can be more dependable 3) he needs to improve his defense 4) he needs to improve his conditioning so he doesn't fade in the 4th quarters 5) he needs to incorporate more ball and head fakes to draw more fouls 6) he needs to improve his footwork by working with hakeem olajuwon or tim duncan or pau gasol
in sum he needs to learn how to play FOR others.
if he took his job more seriously he might eventually accomplish something of lasting value. and without improving in these areas he will never become a leader of any team he plays for.
if he had realized his limitations about himself instead of being a legend in his own mind the knicks would have a rosier future. as it is he is pretty much a fool's gold player who is being coached by a fool's gold coach who gets paid by a fool.

U have zero qualms about pointing that out knowing Westbrook and Harden was on the same team and after seeing how small he came up when he and only he was the focus of the opposing team, much like Melo is on a nightly basis ???..
Durant was never an MVP..
Bonn1997@ 5/19/2013 11:23 AM
Durant came up small? He helped the team win a playoff round in the west without Westbrook (or Harden) and put up better #s in terms of scoring, FG%, rebounding, assists, etc. than Melo's career averages (regular or post-season career averages). Are you saying Melo has come up small his entire career?

Durant didn't come up small. H did what he could on his own. proves you need help. He needs Westbrook for team success. No shame in that.
