Knicks · GAME THREAD: THE NIGHT MELO PUTS HIS LEGACY IN CEMENT--- EPIC SHOWDOWN INDY NEW YORK, NO YELLOW SHIRTS WE ARE NOT WEARING THEM (page 46)

the playoffs he shots an abysmal 49.7TS% which is below his lousy 51.3%TS for his playoff career.
2.53:1 is the ratio of his usage to the number of assists generated for teammates while he was on the floor. it's way too high when you consider he averaged 2.6 assists per game this season.
2.68:1 is the number he sunk to in the playoffs, with a pathetic 1.6 assists per game.
1) he needs to improve his scoring efficiency
2) he needs to improve at getting his teammates involved and engaged so they can be more dependable
3) he needs to improve his defense
4) he needs to improve his conditioning so he doesn't fade in the 4th quarters
5) he needs to incorporate more ball and head fakes to draw more fouls
6) he needs to improve his footwork by working with hakeem olajuwon or tim duncan or pau gasolin sum he needs to learn how to play FOR others.
if he took his job more seriously he might eventually accomplish something of lasting value. and without improving in these areas he will never become a leader of any team he plays for.
if he had realized his limitations about himself instead of being a legend in his own mind the knicks would have a rosier future. as it is he is pretty much a fool's gold player who is being coached by a fool's gold coach who gets paid by a fool.
U have been so wrong all year with your player predictions and team predictions, Im just amazed there is not one ounce of shame as u continue to plow forward...
that's a pretty amazing accusation. in fact it's hilarious. you'll have to explain where i have been wrong.
Did u predict the Knicks would be 5th or sixth seed in the east???

Sure, in his sixth season of being the sole focus (after five straight first round exits). Durant in his first month of being the sole focus came within 2 playoff wins of achieving what took Melo six years. Durant's better than Melo in every facet of the game. That doesn't mean Melo is a bad player. He's still a very good scorer. I'm amazed at how much difficulty you have admitting that Durant's much better than Melo though. Durant at his worst is still better than Melo's average production.

Yeah, they played .500 in the first round and .250 in the second round without Westbrook (and Harden). We've gone 5-10 against weaker first round teams and 2-4 against a weaker 2nd round team during the Melo era. I don't see how any of that contradicts what I said.

I cited data from the 3 years with Melo, not just this year. Nevertheless, a 45 win western conference team is probably pretty similar to a 49 win eastern conference team.

Durant didn't have to play teams of the ilk of the Lakers and Spurs when they were dominant either....And I have no problem admitting Durant is a better player at all...Because u decided to jump into a back and forth between myself and Nolad, you have no clue of what my point was and is now twisting it suit your narrative ...My original statement after Nolad said that Melo is no Superstar he is an all star...My retort was something along the line of would u say the say about Durant after coming up small in the playoffs...I compared both results and questioned whether u make such assessment on a playoff series, was the gist of my commentary...But u decide to chime in without knowing the background and run with it....

Melo was the only reason they were in the game for the first 3 quarters. He was a beast.
First three quarters. Exactly. Not for nothing ....If u want to start pointing fingers...I could probably find 14 guys to point to before I get to Melo..I mean really...
Actually the team was down by 12pts when Melo was sitting on the bench and Shumpert went Boston Celtic Game 5 mode and Copeland was being Copeland....then the game was tied....Knicks had momentum....Woodson puts Melo and the game changed....
Guys get confidence when he's out the game, and when he comes in the game they shrink back to be passive.
Woody yelled at them to pass to Melo! If anybody is guilty is the coach!

+1 Felt carried us in the Boston series. Cant be too mad at him.
+1
If you win a championship after one series, then no. But he disappeared again in this series. Was he playing injured? Probably but the change in his game was dramatic and still, this season exposed him as a PG that won't play as a PG but as a mediocre undersized SG. Id rather have another starting PG and sG next seasin if possible.
Felton is a backup.

Absolutely. Tysons really coming off bad with what hes been saying. Im not even a Woodson fan but Tysons outta line. Hes blaming everyone/thing but himself
I think Tyson, injury or not, has been the biggest disappointment of all. Not only his pathetic game, but his unfortunate comments after some games. He may be a champ but the last two years he has been norhing but a chump.
