So who should we target in free agency?:

remember we don't have much- just the MMLE, vet minimum's and the bi-annual (or has that gone in the new cba?). Might not even have the MMLE if we have to use it on JR.
Personally, I think our two mistakes this offseason were not adding Matt Barnes and Chris Anderson for the vet minimum. Likely Anderson stays with the Heat, but I'd like to see us add Barnes, especially if we're keeping melo at PF. He's cheap and wanted to sign with us.
If JR walks, I think we'll sign Randy Foye as his replacement. He also wanted to be a Knick and could probably be had for the MMLE.
Say no to Odom- out of shape and done.
Wonder if MWP gets amnestied... would you sign him?
Jared Jeffries?!
We really need a young front court player who can rebound, but all I see is Jermaine O'neal! Not sure I want to go down the ancient front court path again...
Anyone see any diamonds in the rough?
DaJuan Blair would be nice.
My dream signing for the MLE is Jose Calderon but he's still only 31 so he's probably looking for one last big payday and won't be as willing to sacrifice money for a chance to win. If he's unavailable the other guys I'm looking at for the MLE are Devin Harris, Blatche, Mo Williams, Korver, Dunleavy, JJ Hickson, Jarrett Jack, Budinger, Foye, and Josh McRoberts in that order. For the minimum I'm looking at Elton Brand, DeJuan Blair, Daniel Gibson, Shaun Livingston, Wesley Johnson, Barnes, Jermaine O'Neal, and Tolliver.

What is his value? I know the Spurs wanted rid of him for some reason, not sure why. Has no ACL's, so that probably cuts into his value too.
-myself, BRIGGS, Nards, RonRon and others have been thinking about this all yr
-keep in mind, these players would sign in the 3mil range
PG AJ price/jose calderon
SG gary neal/randy foye
SF martell webster/anthony tolivver/matt barnes/dorell wright
PF dante cunningham/ivan johnson/Dejuan blair

I don't think he has had any issues with ACL's. I know he went from a lottery pick to a second rounder and the Knicks could have taken him with the Douglas pick. Not sure what kind of contract he could get but hopefully he would sign cheap for a guarantee of playing time.
Plenty of good options. Blair, Foye, and Price might be the best realistic options.
Only guy I give the mMLE to is Webster. VEt min to Dunleavy, and Dalembert. Foye is not that good. I would rather get Ferdette from the kings.

Yea. Knicks are going to have to trade to get high quality pieces.

Hmm, I'd say no to Dalembert (hated by all fans on every team he ever played for- he's much worse than his stats would have you believe), and no to Calderon (he's one of those players who seems to put up big numbers that somehow have no impact on the game). I like the rest of the players though.

Actually, smackeddog was being literal. DeJuan Blair literally doesn't have ACLs, they're physically not there.

He's played with no problems so far, but I'm still freaked out that someones ACL's can just disappear- that can't be good for a players longevity...
how can we get jj hickson
Honestly I dont want anyone if the deal is longer then 2 years. Pointless to add more salary past 2 seasons when we know we cant win.

This will have to be a S&T.
AnubisADL wrote:JJ Hickson?
JJ hickson wants to start at PF and is not a defender. He also wants to get paid.
JJ Hickson = Javale McGee
