Jeff Hornacek has agreed in principle to become the next head coach of the Phoenix Suns, sources confirmed to ESPN.com.

Jeff Hornacek, working the sidelines for the Jazz in March 2012, had been on the Utah coaching staff since 2007.
Hornacek, who had a 14-year career as an NBA player and recently served as an assistant with the Utah Jazz, will sign a three-year deal as early as Sunday night to join the Suns, according to sources.

You think the gravy train of stupidity is over with that franchise? Lon Babby is still with the team, and if I'm not mistake, he's the dude that signed Josh Childress to $6+ million/yr, Jared Dudley to $4+million/yr, Channing Frye to $6 million+/yr, drafted Kendall Marshall and traded for Hedo Turkoglu's contract. If he is, I'm hoping we still can dump some of our "bad" contracts on him.

Suns tried to rebuild on the fly and has failed. Let the tanking begin.

I wonder what the rationale was behind not keeping Lindsey Hunter who had a rapport with the guys on the team. Any coach would have difficulty trying to win with that roster, so I don't understand the reason for letting him go.

Usually retooling doesn't work...even when you have Premium Talent....

tanking is the only way unfortunately. not many lebrons

Hornacek was a good player, knew his limitations very well and a High IQ guy, who spent most of his time as a player and coach under Sloan. Looks like an underrated decision. Will be interested to see how he coaches
