Novak, white and qrich (non guaranteed contracts) plus our draft pick and cash for Ilyasova. Here's a guy who fits with Melo perfectly. He's a perimeter threat plus he actually mixes it up and helps to solve the rebounding issues. He is still primed to be a breakout player and could average 15/8 next season. Milwaukee seems like they need to shake things up and this saves them long term cash, gives them a hometown shooter in Novak, and gets them a draft pick to help their rebuild. Starting Ilyasova at the 4 and moving Melo back to the 3 solves a lot of problems on this team.

I think we can't make any trades unless we get under the $76 million mark in the trade. If we're going to get rid of Novak, I'd offer it for a lesser shooter with a similar salary but less years who isn't playing at all. That's how you start to break away on bad contracts. The fact that Novak got the contract he did in the first place was absurd.

White will be traded before he goes back to Europe and Q Rich will be too if his second year is not guaranteed. Adjust the trade a little maybe Novak for Henson or Udoh. I'd rather take Henson. They have an abundance of PFs and maybe they want to trade one especially if they go after Josh Smith.

Oops, yes, you're right. Still, we need to cut salary. There are some bad contracts on this team. I think we may be able to be creative to shed some $$.
I think Novak still has a lot of value. His contract is not that bad for teams with space.

For what Novak makes, I think it is more than enough to sign Dunleavy which is a much better all around player than Novak ever will be

People seem to forget that he was on the trade block this year because of his subpar play with exception to one and a half months (I think March and April). Novak is a Milwaukee/Marquette product so I could see them having interest in him. We'd need to figure out a way to build in a trade exception for them, add some money and find an additional player of worth to give the deal legs. I'm not sure I'd like Melo at the 3 full-time but he, Ilyasova and Chandler should have excellent symmetry on the court together.
As for Bargnani, stay away from the dude. He's a subpar player being paid like a star. If we're not moving out Amare's contract for him and filler, I'd stay away.

That's the point. White and qrich will never play for them but that will save them money. They are small market and looking to get cap space to rebuild and sign someone like josh smith. Adding Novak who can be a floor stretcher and fan favorite there, a draft pick, and save a ton of money when they are looking for cap space is a great deal for them. They want to make a free agent splash this year and this deal gives them am additional 3 million in space.

Yeah, he's no doubt expendable because of their front court depth. Would you make the deal if they demanded Drew Gooden's contract be included? I can't help but feel that they'd make the demand, which I personally think we should oblige. As a side, I like Udoh a lot and he could become available as well.
P.S., from what I hear, neither the Bucks or Redick have any interest in sticking around with each other.

Exactly, everyone knows that Barg has short comings and a bad contract but so does Novak and Camby. Why not consolidate the bad money into one guy and open up a roster spot? The problem is that Barg not only is not a good defender, although he did rate high in one study if I recall, or rebounder he also can't stay healthy.

I actually last read on realgm wiretap that Milwaukee wanted to build their backcourt around Ellis and reddick, but who knows. I would also be willing to take Gooden if it worked under the cap for the simple fact that his contract is only two more seasons so it doesn't really affect any future cap space we might have. Might be able to get 2 serviceable years out of him and he will expire with everyone else in 2 years. After that we resign Melo while also having Ilyasova, shumpert, Felton, possible smith, and just enough room for a max player.

Some people talk about a 'stretch 4' to play with Melo... I think a Melo, Bargs, Chandler frontcourt would work very well as Bargs won't get in Melo's way in the post. His shortcomings would actually fit quite nicely here
