This guy couldve been a superstar with multiple titles and injuries have just killed his career(although he has accomplished more than most players)
I was thinking about making the same exact thread and ask who would give him the money this year.

I honestly wouldn't mind that Chandler was a liability on offense if he didn't take so many nights off on defense. There were too many times in the playoffs where he would just watch someone blow right past him. He has to be able to score more I think Hibbert pretty much didn't have to guard him on defense. That allowed Hibbert to hang around the basket altering shot after shot. It really didn't help thatChandler was unable to lure Hibbert away from the basket.
The flip side is mobile bigs give Hibbert a problem. I remember Javale McGee owning Bynum last year.

I agree he needs more offense. An up and under move would be great, and as you pointed out Chandler never takes a jumper to keep the defense honest.
My point was that Chandler was brought here for his defense and leadership but now he isn't even bringing that to the team. I couldn't believe he threw his teammates under the bus, reminded me of what he was like with the Bulls.

One forgets that he wasn't the leader of Mavs team it was a combination of Dirk, Kidd and Terry not so much Chandler.
great to see the "center" coming back to the nba. hibbert is truly one of the best two-way players in the league, his defense is outstanding, as is his post-game. also a great rebounder. definitely shoulda won DPOY and is one of the most valuable players in the league. turning into a superstar these playoffs.

I was obviously referring to his leadership on defense. Chandler changed the team's complexion on defense, without him setting the tone, they never would have beat the Heat.

He's one of my targets if we trade Tyson. He has a big contract and Denver's completely soured on him so he should be available. But, if we were to trade Tyson for him we need to be getting more back than just McGee. Like some combination of Wilson Chandler, Evan Fournier, and Anthony Randolph.

Hibbert has yet to win 1 so this would make your thread premature...either way the comparison shouldn't be made at this time. I could see if Bynum was healthy and the Pacers were playing the Sixers in the ECFs. Lakers traded for Dwight and got swept and never looked good all year with him.

I don't think anyone has denied the fact that having a good center is extremely valuable. It's just that there are so few good centers in the league that the position as a whole has been minimized.

No question you could say Bogut when he showed he had some relative health was a big factor for GSW. Every team is gonna need some kind of big to advance far whether that's a stretch 4, power 4, or Center. Noah proved huge too during the playoffs.
