Can we sign him and trade him down the road? Perhaps.
He is an asset and at 5mm he is not a huge risk.

talk about reaching. Guys had the flue late in the season.....I don't know about you but, when I go days without being able to eat, I lose weight too, not that that has anything to do with JR. I think you need to stick to one size when it comes to TV's. Smaller TVs sometimes skew perspectives.

The Knicks are a storied franchise that is working on a return to prominence in the NBA. He couldn't see fit to curb his partying at the most important time in recent Knicks history to effectively do his job! He is a good talent but a team will never win anything meaningful with guys like that. Let him walk and become another teams problem come Playoff time!

I disagree. I think their talent/production helped their own individual situations I do not feel it benefited us projecting out. Overall record suggest we were a much better team but I look many other variables(how we win, how we lose, how we play from qrt to qrt, how consistent each player's level of play is, scheduling, ability to overcome adversity, poise, game control, toughness, effort, style of play, TEAM chemistry.... etc etc.
Because look at it this way.... say we win 46gms next yr and Melo's and J.R.'s numbers are identical but we advance to the second rd and lose in 7gms.... Does that mean the team prior to was better just because we won 54gms?
I'm not going to give more credit than necessary from a byproduct of volume.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but not their own facts...Fact is the Knicks were better this year and a big reason is the play of JR Smith..He excelled beyond all expectations...Can u say he doesn't have another gear he could shift into next year??...I don't know and you don't know...He has all the athleticism and talent in the world and seems he is finally beginning to mature as a person and a player... Last year was a huge step for him...He hasn't squandered anything..He's 27 and in his prime...
