Many assistant coaches apply for head coaching positions. A few get the opportunity, but most don't. Ewing keeps applying for a head coaching job. He hasn't gotten one and so he stays as an assistant.
This confirms it for me...he signed here to reconnect back with his East Coast contacts and he was planning his basketball life post player for some time now.
Kidd may have checked out in January of this year. If he lands a coaching gig then it pretty much makes up for the remaining 2yrs he forfeited on his contract from us.

I wonder if him getting a coaching job affects the Knicks settlement to him and cap ramifications....
I give J Kidd a lot of credit. This is a winning person. he just gave up his NBA career--he couldve came back and played a bit role and collected his cash--but he opted to go sell himself as a coach and looks like he is going to get the job and likely a very long lucrative coaching career is next for him.

Nets have a bit intrigue going with a "mystery man" who some thought was Messina. Its pretty much reported Billy King wants the Triangle offense with Blatch and BroPez so Brian Shaw could bring that.
Kidd deserves an interview regardless of experience just out of respect. If he blows King away, who knows?
