that's what would put you in the conference finals this year,
you gotta trade chandler for a dirty work player maybe a younger one,
pekovic is the high end of the dirty work player i want him here but if you oan't move tyson for pekovic then you have to find someone else,
Isn't that why Chandler is making 13 mil per??
If you list a dozen things we need, sure that would be one of them but the main problem is that the team only scored 88 PPG in the playoffs. This wont' address that.

that was probably the idea but he is in the wrong league,
in the wnba he is a top 5 player, because he played like a woman when it mattered most

you can't fix scoring until you first have a grunt filthy guy, it's a foundation piece, we were handled by the pacers

I don't buy that. It sounds ridiculous. What's a "grunt filthy guy" gonna do for us on offense? If we add Chris Paul and James Harden, it wouldn't fix our scoring?
well maybe the grunt filthy guy gets rebounds on d to stop the other team from getting more opportunities to score.

average score of pacers knicks series was in the 80s, the difference was that they bodied us,
with a grunt filthy guy you're in the conference finals this year,
this guy that cleans the insides, he makes life easier for everyone else because the other team has to spend a lot of energy on battling him,
tyson was easy as pie to handle so the pacers were able to spare energy on shutting everyone else down
Well there are guys out there that fit exactly what you're talking about -- Jeff Adrien, Rick Jackson, Arinze Onuaku, etc.
I'd personally like to see us shoot for a higher tier/more well-rounded big, a guy that can rebound but also has a decent overall skill level to him. Marcus Cousin, Jordan Williams, Mike Muscala at 24 would be a good pick, Jamelle Hagins late in the draft (or as a post draft SL invitee), maybe a guy like Kevin Jones or even Herb Pope (if he's matured and over his off-the-court troubles).

I disagree... I have always thought Knicks should put a rebounder at center, even if small. A guy like Reggie Evans who just vacuums up rebounds and kicks the ball out back to shooters. A guy like that would have a big impact. Chandler was great at that for stretches but either got hurt, got taken out by Hibbert or like most every player that seems to come here evil cartoons stole his talent.

We have lots of needs. The issue is we have very few assets. You're better off hoping Chandler recovers and we can sign a vet min guy who does what you're saying while focusing on addressing our biggest weaknesses.
The above applies only if you're committed to building around Melo still.

chandler is probably good for only about 20-24 minutes a game going forward. dude has been wearing down for years. people forget the minutes he averaged in dallas a couple of years back as they were keenly aware he went straight from high school. he averaged 28 minutes. instead he was made to play 32-33 minutes a game, up 5 minutes instead of down 5 minutes.
who's going to fill in the other 24-28 minutes a game for the knicks? baron? james? stoudemire?
sure seems like the knicks are circling the drain.

I wouldn't say he has been wearing number for years, his numbers and his play definitely don't indicate it. But i do think he plays too many minutes and need to be kept at 30 or below. The mileage thing is highly overrated, trust me. Guys are playing the same amount of basketball and working out hard every day regardless of it being an 82 game schedule at age 19-20 or a college schedule. The whole "he came out of high school" thing doesn't hold much value as far as break down concerns. It's not like guys who don't come out of high school aren't playing. What matters is the position you play, style you play, and injury history (significant injuries, not minor ones.) Chandler has the makeup of an NBA center that should continue to be an impact player for many years.
KMart fills this role as Chandler's backup. We should be all set on PF/C dirty work guy with addition of a backup 5.
If the Knicks get a second round pick Mbwake could be that guy.
gani lawal, dante cunningham can be obtained for cheap

It was a low scoring series. We got physically manhandled. I definitely disagree with you here... we need some tough rebounders who are good at putting back the misses from our chuckers.
