I don't think we're that close or that Rondo is that good that that kind of deal would be worth it.
Can the Knicks steal Rondo? NOT without help from another team? Boston doesn't need Shumpert.. Most teams are not likely willing to take on Chandler's contract (Perhaps GOLDEN STATE); Boston'll have a surplus of 2 guards (After the trade w/ BK Nets: Brooks, Bogans) and already have Avery Bradley/ they have Jeff Green @ sf.. They NEED a pg or a pf/c.. more interested in expiring contracts and picks. We have neither to offer! smh
Felton could have value in a 3 way deal but w/ which team??? Maybe find a taker for Novak? Camby? as fillers LOL. Any team taking that bunch, will just be tryna help NYK.. I doubt the Knicks brass have friends in this league, so. I say continue to hope for mediocre free agents that are available.

What do people have against Rondo? He is young and a bit of a hothead. But he plays with passion gives it everything everytime he is on the floor. He is harsh on teammates when they slack off - because he doesn't. Now on the Knicks that would piss of half the team starting with Melo - but that's exactly the type of player we need. Our coach doesn't have the balls to hold his stars accountable might as well get a player who does.
The nets just spent three 1st rounders for old ass KG and Pp. We aren't getting Rondo.

What this guy said. I highly doubt Boston trades away an all-star for cents on the dollar so that we can be competitive. I wouldn't rule it out completely but do consider it highly improbable. Any move we make would have to result in us taking back several of their bad contracts like Gerald Wallace, Jeff Green and/or Courtney Lee, while finding draft picks to give them. The only way we could accomplish this is through a 3 or 4 team deal, which would effectively gut whatever supporting cast (and I use that loosely) we have around Melo. Our defecto dumb GM has become Dell Demps, now that Billy King has tossed his load, so one of those teams would have to be the Hornets. If Grunwald pulls this off though, he deserves GM of the year for the next decade.

Melo must've slacked his way to averaging the most points per game in the league. I do think Rondo would have a positive impact on Melo. It's difficult having to create every single shot taken in a game.

REALLY.. I mean the celtics didn't gut their team of vets like pierce and garnett so that they can add tyson chandler and shumpert... or whomever else we have.... jeez.... if I had rondo, I am looking shumpert(since that is the only young piece we have) a first rounder, second rounder and tim hardaway JR as a throw in... and that may even just get me to stay on the phone....

I agree. If Rondo isn't moved by the Celtics it will be interesting to see how things go. He is a creator and he has spent most of his career creating for three hofs. Doing it with young guys will be different. Rondo on the Knicks is fun to think about. He is a great player.
Brooklyn traded picks that will be low first round picks and Gerald Wallace for PP and Garnett....but the idea of us trading Tyson or shump, novak and Felton for Rondo is stupid???
I wouldn't trade Wallace for Novak, Felton and Shump....
Anyway my initial idea had Portland involved and that makes the most sense for them since they would get Wesley Matthews, Meyers Leanard and CJ McCullum.
