If any team picked up Rondo other than the Knicks they would be instant title contenders.....if the Knick get him, oh he sucks, he is a trouble maker, hot head, uncoachable, bad teammate....

I, for one, can't be optimistic with the impausible. A rebuilding team like the Celtics would have little interest in what we have and I doubt that what we have can entice another lottery-ish team to give up their picks. And please stop comparing the Nets deal with one involving Rondo. Garnett/Pierce are only expected to be in the league for about 2 more seasons. Rondo, an all star, has about a decade left. Needless to say, Rondo's trade value is substantially higher.
To get RR it would cost us Shumpster, future 1sts going into next decade probably, and Tyson who would go to a 3rd team that's a contender who would give Boston more young pieces, picks and somebody would have to take back the Wallace contract. And maybe Hardaway. That's what it would cost. And the celts can probably find a better deal, so I don't see it happening.
And Rondo is at Least a top 20 player. Some put him in the top 10. I have nothing against him. He's always managed without a jumper and he could do it here too. We just have almost no shot at acquiring him.

yes it is stupid enyspree because with the exception of shumpert who has some potential the rest of the guys suck... now I am not saying suck as in bums, but in relation to the value that rondo has, they suck...no one wants chandler, novak or felton they can get these guys anywhere in the league...
and on top of that we are in the same division. Boston would not trade him to us without fleecing the team, and in the end, it is not worth it..unless it was lebron maybe..

It has no chance of happening and we'd probably need to get a third team involved, but I'd trade Chandler (we can sign a cheap formidable replacement like O'Neal, Dalembert, Oden), Shumpert, Novak, Felton, picks.
I think the more possible options with out giving up two starters are Teague and Vasquez.

Has OJ Mayo opted out yet? He is still only 25 any chance we can get Dallas to trade him for a minimal asset so they can clear cap room. I think his contract is reasonable and he wants to play here. I think we could of got him last year. If we are going to trade assets in sign and trades we should be doing it for 24 year olds.We are paying the same thing for a worthless Marcus Camby and Novak.I really dont get how the Knicks find themselves overpaying every single frickin time in trades/ contracts whatever it is. I dont want to be a downer but these trade ideas Im seeing are ludicrous. Would you do that deal if u are the Clippers? The Clippeers are trying to win a title not help the Knicks win 1.

I have no delusions about Shumpert. At best, I think his career trajectory will be a better version of Tony Allen. For a contender needing a no.2 man, that isn't enough. For a team like the Clippers that just needs to refine their supporting cast, this is a player to drool over especially since they have no 2-guard of worth. As I suggested earlier, Shumpert can go up against the best players in the league without any help and disrupt their game. Meanwhile, Chandler is an upgrade over Jordan in that he is far more polished, which makes him less of a liability on the court. He doesn't foul much, he's an elite defender AND he isn't the free throw shooting sive Jordan is which allows him to be on the court in the 4th quarter. So yes, I think the Clippers do this deal, since they are in a win now mode and have little need for either Bullocks or a future no.1

Yeah, Mayo has opted out and I'd love for us to sign him. Truth be told, I wanted him over JR Smith last season although, I admit, I'd want for us to keep JR this time around. Luckily for us, Mayo's late season flameout with the Mavs might have both parties interested in making a permanent split. I also share your frustrations with Knick management, even though Grunwald (IMO) has been better than the average bear. He's had the fortune of having most of the heavy lifting done for him but I thought his deals for Lin, Novak, JR Smith, Kenyon Martin, Chris Copeland, Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni were pretty damn smooth considering the resources he had to work with. I hated the fact that we let Lin walk for nothing of value in return, re-signed Novak from the jump when we should've been looking to trade him (dude is the worst) and gave up Harrellson and Jordan for Camby, though I did and still do like the decision to add Camby. Compare that to the type of stupidity that transpired before his tenure though and his few screwups are not something to dwell on.
