Knicks · Beck Reporting Knicks trade for Bargnani (page 5)

Vmart @ 6/30/2013 7:13 PM
Basically Knicks traded the 1st round pick for Bargs. Camby and Novak are pretty useless.
MS @ 6/30/2013 7:13 PM
I don't understand where this move is helping. He is a career 43% shooter, he is injury prone and doesn't rebound or defend.

Our gm signed three players to shitty deals last off season, now we have to give up a first rounder to shed salary? This is the team that gave fields one of the worst contracts in the NBA and never makes the playoffs and they out smart our GM.

New York Knick Basketball. Trash organization, that raises prices every chance they get, but can never bring in the right people or make the right move. How hard is it to find someone that works in the Spurs organization and bring them here.

God help us when this guy gets injured.

Clean @ 6/30/2013 7:13 PM
We won't be able to buy 2nd rounders like years past. Teams only get 3mil a year now and not 3mil a trade like last CBA. This is why we could not buy a 2nd this year. We used our money in another trade. Seeing as how we are always giving up picks and/or money in trades I doubt we will be able to ever buy 2nd round picks in a year we execute a trade.
BRIGGS @ 6/30/2013 7:13 PM
Here is the big thing w this trade. Do we get the bargs from 2-3 years ago who looked like he was turning into a star in out playr. Or what he morphed into w injury problems the last 2 If we're getting bargs from 2011 then this is a good deal. His salary does not effect fa in 2 years. It did end up costing us 5 picks if u consider camby

His injury issues are a concern. he has missed a ton of games the past 2 years

Actually they are excited. They were ready to give up picks to trade him or amnesty him. I been reading Raptors forums aswell and I have not heard one fan mad about trade.

You act like there is nothing to worry about. i mean have you seen what this organization has done the past 13 years. Wow we have one good regular season and 1 playoff round win

don't jump off the deep end over a meaningless draft pick....

if the knicks missed the playoff, this is still a good trade. We got better...hard to believe we gave away Camby and Novak for Bargnani. If you can't sit back and enjoy that then something is seriously wrong with you

First off all i am perfectly calm and second of all i can gurantee that i follow the knciks more closely than you do. they are my favorite sports team and i go to maybe 30-40 games per year and like i said know a ton.

I have a tattoo of Patrick ewing on my left testicle....

beat that!

btw dude I have a knicks blg and a facebook fanpage for it....I am a bigger loser than you trust me

U tattooed Ewing on your testicle... What is wrong with U LOL. I hope your joking. If not that is about as creepy as a tattoo as ive ever heard someone getting. I wonder how Ewing would react to that

here is his injury breakdown:

strike shortened season - he was playing like an all star the first 13 games of hte season. he strained his calf. missed 2 games then casey played him 38 mins and 44 mins on back to back nights and his calf popped

last season - he went up for a dunk, landed and tore a ligament in his elbow. he came back then got it hyperextended when a laker right right into it bending it back a bit.

then he was basically shut down for the year as he was starting to get booed at home.

this might be the worst day of my life...

Exactly they were gonna amnesty this dude because they got no good offers until the knciks came along. I remember teh suns were desperately trying to get rid of penny. They even said they were doomed with his contract until the knicks came along and nit only took penny but took starbury as well lol.
RonRon @ 6/30/2013 7:19 PM
Copeland did much more than I think Bargani could do with his injuries pending and at a cheaper rate

SMFH, there is Isiah and Dolan all over this once again

When teams have injury prone and bloated contarcts they dont fear it because they know teh knicks will take them off their hands

The good thing about this trade is that if the Raps can get a 1st and 2 2nd rounders for bargs we should be able to get something for STAT right?

Nope only the Knicks are that stupid
Knixkik @ 6/30/2013 7:25 PM
A really underrated aspect of this deal is the 4th year of novaks contract no longer on the books. Makes retooling in 2015 much better. That alone could be worth the late first round pick.
CrushAlot @ 6/30/2013 7:25 PM
Awesome trade. Knicks needed to do something and they need a big that can hit a shot. I think this a steal. A bit surprised by the negative reaction from some. Knicks gave up two guys that did nothing and a first rounder for a guy that is 6'11 and a former number one pick.
EnySpree @ 6/30/2013 7:27 PM
If you look at it like the Knicks traded two bums that aren't in the plans for a possible starter....that is huge!!! At the same time if he doesn't fit or if he is injured, he still is better to have instead of Novak and Camby....you could trade Bargnani again if you wanted, at least in a cap relief trade
Knixkik @ 6/30/2013 7:27 PM

I'm surprised too but some people are obsessed with draft picks and think its easy to build a contender if you have them so I can understand where it's coming from I guess.

VCoug @ 6/30/2013 7:27 PM
This might not be a bad trade for us. Not happy about the 2016 1st but Denver had the right to swap that one so it probably wouldn't be a high pick anyway. Bargnani isn't as bad a player as his reputation. He definitely needs a change of scenery and you can't build a team around him but as a secondary guy he could be good for us.

they also gave up 2 2nd rounders. Also Bargnani has missed a ton of games the past 2 years. I mean Toronto was gonna amnesty him because they couldnt get any trade offers that were evn decent until the knicks.
Clean @ 6/30/2013 7:28 PM
People keep saying that Novak and Camby did nothing last year. You are correct but what you are failing to add is that Bargs did nothing the past 2 years and he is getting paid 11mil per. So we trade nothing for nothing yet we have to give up picks and they don't?
