So that is 2 steals in terms of talent with vet min deals for PT in Nick Young and Wesley Johnson
With that same theory, I did not want to use any part of the MINI MLE on Pablo Prigoni
I believe we could have had a much higher chance in getting a steal at PG with Kidd gone and Felton our only PG that could not defend his position

For all his flaws, D'Antoni does attract FA's who are down on their luck- they see it as an opportunity to plumpen their stats playing in his system, plus it looks fun. Good spot to land if you want to boost your reputation for next offseason.

I think it will take a while for him to settle on the minimum. He will likely rehab and see how things shake out in vet camps and hoe he gets a 2-3 mill.

Dwight's worked with Hakeem a couple times before while in Orlando.

Not sure it's going to help or hinder him...he is what he is at this point in his career.

This is a great move for D12 and the ROCKETS development/coaching staff
I wonder if this was one of D12's idea's in joining the team or one The Rocket's selling points for D12 to go to Houston
Regardless, it would not only help D12 but the rest of the the players, especially BIG's development, something that The Rocket's should have done long ago

D12 made the best decision for himself, saving him 50k per week, and NOTHING is like having a COACH, mentoring him throughout the ENTIRE SEASON, and monitering/developing/coaching him EACH GAME for the ENTIRE SEASON than a couple weeks of summer training
It would have a greater input on the development of ANY player when the coach is in your ear's and giving you advice right when you make mistakes, correcting the mistakes, telling you what you could have done in the play, or motivating you when you playing well

This move make's The Rocket's team % much higher in improving and becoming a legit contender
It isn't about what D12 could do but how the team could play together, playing on and off the ball, and be legit options for all players
All of Hakeeem's moves are about options/counters and reading what the DEF give's you, improving consistency, team play, BB IQ, keeping role players as options and NOT just standing around, and PLAYING ON AND OFF THE BALL

Wonder how much Hakeem makes, I am sure many teams wanted Hakeem to be part of their coaching staff/development coach
There is a conflict of interest for Hakeem since he is also developing/mentoring players from the entire league like Drummond, Noah, McGee/Faried, Amare/Melo, and the entire Rocket's staff

Would have loved it if Knick's were able to add Hakeem to our staff and would pay him a HIGH SALARY to do so *over Woodson's salary*

when you say Knick's BIGS, it was actually mainly with Melo
I posted it earlier on another thread about Melo, there are 5 videos on youtube on Melo working with Hakeem in training camp
If you watch it carefully, you can see Melo has a problem learning the footwork and theories (for counters) behind them
The whole point of Hakeem's moves are to create options and make EFFICIENT QUICK MOVES to the basket that are almost unable to defend but watch the clips and you see Melo's inability to want to learn/execute his moves but instead chooses to pound and do moves that he has been doing his entire career but it isn't the moves that Hakeem is trying to teach him

While Melo's post play did improve last season, it was far from Hakeem's training/philosophies
It was mainly from pounding in on players that are not as strong as him or going around them if they weren't as quick, with physical abilities and NOT from advance footwork/post skills/ mastering fakes with quick and precise foot work/ from Hakeem's training
Had Hakeem been a part of the coaching staff for the Knick's for the entire season, maybe, Melo might have been able to learn/master these moves
But instead he stuck with what he knew how to do instead of trying to learn/master Hakeem's moves

Hopefully both Melo and Amare will continue their training this summer with Hakeem and Melo will give more effort in working on the understanding and footwork of Hakeem's training
If they are able to do so, I believe it will allow them both to be able to not only be more efficient scores but also all around playmakers that could elevate the team's overall play in terms of facilitating/creating for their team mates

I could be wrong but I think D12 will make great improvements within these next 2 years, with whoever else that can absorb the knowledge training with Hakeem everyday and having him there every game and practice, in their ears along the sidelines
With these improvements they not only will improve their own play but able to elevate the role player's and TEAM's play, just like Hakeem has done when he played with the Rockets
Not everyone has the talent that Kobe and Lebron has with their footwork, work ethic, BB IQ/BB knowledge, and willingness/ability to learn, so 2 weeks of training simply isn't enough for most

I am pointing out the flaw's of CA's footwork, understanding of the moves, how it would benefit his game, and improve his ability to be a more complete efficient player/ability to fascilitate/create for the team
Instead of trying to learn off of Hakeem who charges 50k per week and Knick's payed for his services, he would rather look to do things "his way"

carmelo's footwork is a straight-up abomination and he needs all the help he can get. looking at him work with hakeem the master just shows what a lousy student of the game melo is. shameful-- and we are going to see the same nonsense from him next season.

Salmons and his $7.6 million salary were still on the Kings' roster after Tuesday's deadline passed. However, he's unlikely to have the same role next season after the Kings traded for Luc Richard Mbah a Moute during free agency. While Mbah a Moute isn't exactly an offensive dynamo, he'll definitely cut into Salmons' minutes as the duo will likely form some sort of platoon at small forward.

I don't understand The King's for amnestying Salmons because his final year is not guaranteed and they are not in the tax penalty
I don't see any FA's that are worth chasing with a large salary offer
But by amnestying Salmons, Salmons has to Thank, The King's because his final year becomes guaranteed, while he still has the ability to sign with another team to earn even more money
Had Monta Ellis not signed with Dallas, I could at least see what they are trying to do

There must be a trade coming up from the King's hopefully it is Tyson Chandler and we get a learn trade exemption with some nice young pieces back and future draft picks
I would have taken Salmons for Chandler/Brewer's trade exemption with Salmons, Greivis Vasquez, Patrick Patterson, and Chuck Hayes(as a throw in to help the King's clear some salary)

I think the King's might go with a 3g lineup in stretches, maybe to even finish games, it should open up room for Cousins to operate

Bucks waive F/C Drew Gooden using the amnesty clause.

Like most amnesty waives, this one's not too surprising. Gooden's nearing the end of his career and while he's likely still capable of being a solid contributor to an NBA team, his fantasy value is nonexistent. Larry Sanders and John Henson will handle most of the big-man minutes for the Bucks this season and both will be popular fantasy picks. Sanders had his breakout season last year, while Henson's should be right around the corner.

Raptors waive forward Linas Kleiza and designate him as the team’s amnesty player.

Kleiza's knees have been troublesome and he had microfracture surgery in 2011. He could land with another team at some point this season if he doesn't play overseas, but his days of being a fantasy option appear to be over.

Dallas will continue to pursue free-agent center Greg Oden, but it looks like they're signing Sammy D to be their starting center this season. We've jumped on his bandwagon in the past and he has the ability to post some monster lines and block a lot of shots, but he's failed to do so over a sustained period of time. As the starting big man in Dallas, he'll be worth drafting in fantasy, but expectations should be tempered for now.

The Raptors and D.J. Augustin agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.26 million, league sources tell Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

Augustin spent last season with the Pacers but hit career lows in almost every relevant category. In Toronto, he'll be the primary backup to Kyle Lowry and hopefully give Toronto enough to be trusted with 10 to 15 minutes a night. Augustin won't have any impact on your fantasy league unless Lowry can't stay healthy, which isn't that farfetched.

The Lakers officially signed G Jordan Farmar on Wednesday.

This was just a formality and he's now on a one-year deal with the Lakers. He played his first four seasons with the Lakers and had his Turkish deal bought out to make this one happen. It's doubtful that Farmar will be worth owning in most fantasy leagues.

NOT the greatest fan of DJ Augustine but feel he has much more value than the 3year deal than Pablo received from us
There are plenty of PG's I would much rather have than Pablo and feel he is a 3rd string PG NOT a 2nd string
Had we not used part of the MINI MLE on Pablo, I feel we could have signed much better options, that would have came for under their market price, with only Raymond Felton to compete with for the job
