The Mavericks reached a verbal agreement with C Samuel Dalembert on Wednesday, reports ESPN's Marc Stein.Dallas will continue to pursue free-agent center Greg Oden, but it looks like they're signing Sammy D to be their starting center this season. We've jumped on his bandwagon in the past and he has the ability to post some monster lines and block a lot of shots, but he's failed to do so over a sustained period of time. As the starting big man in Dallas, he'll be worth drafting in fantasy, but expectations should be tempered for now.
The Raptors and D.J. Augustin agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.26 million, league sources tell Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Augustin spent last season with the Pacers but hit career lows in almost every relevant category. In Toronto, he'll be the primary backup to Kyle Lowry and hopefully give Toronto enough to be trusted with 10 to 15 minutes a night. Augustin won't have any impact on your fantasy league unless Lowry can't stay healthy, which isn't that farfetched.
The Lakers officially signed G Jordan Farmar on Wednesday.
This was just a formality and he's now on a one-year deal with the Lakers. He played his first four seasons with the Lakers and had his Turkish deal bought out to make this one happen. It's doubtful that Farmar will be worth owning in most fantasy leagues.
NOT the greatest fan of DJ Augustine but feel he has much more value than the 3year deal than Pablo received from us
There are plenty of PG's I would much rather have than Pablo and feel he is a 3rd string PG NOT a 2nd string
Had we not used part of the MINI MLE on Pablo, I feel we could have signed much better options, that would have came for under their market price, with only Raymond Felton to compete with for the job
A bit off topic but who ever is coaching the Heat's summer league team is going to be a good head coach. He has his guys playing really good d. Can't ever remember seeing a team get after it like they are.

I thought DJ was going to end up in Europe. I like the Farmar signing for the Lakers.
Byron Mullens is nearing agreement on for a two-year deal with the Clippers.
The Bobcats let Mullens go and made him an unrestricted free agent after basically falling out of the rotation. Mullens shot 36.9 percent from the field after the break while averaging just 19.5 minutes over that stretch. He'll provide some depth behind Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
Great fit, as they need a stretch 4/5 and have a legit PG to create with Blake Griffen getting the room to operate 1v1, and the shooters to space the floor
Zwerling saying the Knicks are looking at Austin Daye. Daye was a guy I always expected to be a good player/starter that never got there. I think he would be a good pick up.
I wonder what's up with Cole Aldrich? and why hasn't K-mart been resigned. Maybe Daye would be a good look on a better team.

Houston Rockets just re-signed Aaron Brooks, vet minimum deal I believe. Weird huh -- they waive him on or about Jun 30th along with Delfino, now they bring him back loaded at PG with Lin, Beverley and Canaan. Well, at least we were in on this:

A few things -- either (1) Morey knew we were interested and didn't want us to have Brooks--probably not but this guy def. has a thing for the Knicks; (2) Morey sees him as a favorable inexpensive trading chip later in the season, (3) Brooks has kids and he wanted them to return to a place they were familiar with or (4) we turned our attention away from Brooks (Bobby Brown?) and Brooks felt slighted.
A little tough to swallow -- this guy would've been very good here behind/playing alongside Felton. He had his reasons I guess, but P/T-wise, there would've been more of an opportunity here you figure. I hope none of this had to do with the fact that the Knicks are telling potential PGs that Prigioni's the main backup and that whoever they're talking about will be #3. PP needs to be the #3 guy imo..

Nuts! I was hoping we'd get Brooks. He seems to have lost something since playing in China, though. I found it odd that Houston let him go this offseason (he was on a very cheap deal that wouldn't have really impacted their cap), and had the potential to be slightly better than Lin (who has a much bigger contract).
I think Houston wants rid of Asik and Lin, and are just saying they plan to keep them so other teams don't think they can get them cheap. Lin wasn't even invited to meet with Howard when they were trying to sign him as a FA (I think Parsons,Harden and others were).
Asik should be easily tradeable, but I really don't see Lin being wanted by any team at that salary. The hype is over, and he's owed a lot of money. A lot of people said we should have matched his offer and then traded him later- I'm glad we didn't, because I think he's unmovable.

Even at $8mil per, why would a team want him? he's overpriced, the Hype's died down so he won't give a marketing boost. If I was a team looking for a PG, I'd rather sign Nate that trade for Lin at that number.
Maybe Lin takes a step forward this year- he hasn't been terrible, but he's been a disappointment for that salary.
It seems there aren't really any game-changing FA's left to get excited about. Unless you're a Nate fan I suppose (and he looks like he's heading to Denver). I think that's exactly why. Coaching staff has to spend extra time just with his personality and it's just not worth it.

Obviously it depends on what salary you're dumping. I'm sure the Raptors would have preferred Lin + filler over Bargnani, for example.
There are two separate issues: A) Would you sign him as an FA right now for $8 mil per? Of course the answer is no. B) Are there a lot of guys making $8 mil per that teams would happily swap Lin for? I think the answer is yes there. I'm not sure if the salaries or cap hits have to match in trades, though. He'll probably be much easier to move as an expiring contract in 12 months.

He's one of those players who it feels like has been playing for decades. Weird thing is I remember him on the magic, and I remember them trading him to the Cavs when everyone felt sorry for their gm because he let Boozer out of his contract thinking he was going to re-sign. But I have no recollection of him playing for Chicago, the Spurs, the Mavs or the Clips. Does he just post empty stats?
