Now THIS bothers me. My assumption was that the knicks wouldnt be able to afford nate. he averaged 13.1ppg and 4.4 asts and carried the bulls in the playoffs (when he outplayed deron). i thought with that resume, he'd earn at least 3-5mill. Instead, the market dried up and teams didnt have much to offer. Instead of going after Nate, we over pay Prigoni at 1.7mill for 2 yrs and then start looking at Bobby Brown, Telfair, Brooks and other PGs. They may be good but Nate is a definite PROVEN commodity.

Are you telling me that Prigoni should be worth more than Nate?!?!?!??! Moves like this drive me nuts!!

callmened @ 7/22/2013 4:44 PM
sorry...new reports are saying the deal was worth 2mill (2yrs/4mill)...we still couldve afford that!

It's not just about talent, but also fit. Priggs fits better with this team than Nate, I think. I'm not sure that a backcourt pairing of JR and Nate would have been a recipe for success.

blkexec @ 7/22/2013 9:03 PM
Nate gives you offense. Nate is a SG in a PG body. Nate is a liability on defense. We have scorers.....We need glue guys (Prigs)...a PG (Prigs) and defense.

Nate would've been a nice addition, but we would've lost out on other moves waiting on Nate to drop his price tag.

It is also being reported that the 2nd year is a player option

Knicks only had the mmle and prioritized resigning Prigs with part of it. No one knew that Nate would fall and be available. The KNicks were also hoping to use the other portion of the mmle on Cope. Prigs fits more of a need for the Knicks in my opinion. As far as guys not scoring against the Pacers, hopefully the Knicks have less injuries and the new guys provide that. Bargs gives Hibbert fits.

If nate played......we wouldve lost because of defense. And this off season nate wouldve been slammed by knick fans seeking a defensive sg.

From Aldridge twitter:
Spurs expected to withdraw qualifying offer to Gary Neal, making him unrestricted FA. Deal should quickly follow, per source.

Wonder where he ends up- wont be us, that's for sure!

What do we know about Malcolm Thomas, waived by the Bulls? Was a good shotblocker in college, got some burn late last year and had a 22 rebound game in summer league. I'd take a look.

we know that hes talented yet skinny and needs to add 40lbs to be a true NBA PF

Hawks to Sign PF Pero Antic

If Antic is signed it most likely means that unrestricted free agent Ivan Johnson will not return. The Hawks have shown intersted in bringing Johnson back however they have made several moves this offseason to bolster their frontcourt. Al Horford, Paul Millsap, Elton Brand and Antic would be guaranteed contracts. The team also has second-year forward Mike Scott on a non-guaranteed contract. and yet-to-be-signed draftees Lucas Nogueira and Mike Muscala.

Morey looking to swing for the fences again. Really targeting LaMarcus Aldridge. Grunny should get into this.

This 3 way trade would be nice for all parties...

Houston sends - Asik, Lin, Greg Smith
Houston receives - LaMarcus Aldridge

NY sends - Tyson Chandler
NY receives - Asik, Lin

Portland sends - LaMarcus Aldridge
Portland receives - Tyson Chandler, Greg Smith

I think this helps everybody involved. Might have to add 1 more piece going to Portland to make Portland happy.

They don't want an Asik and Lin package for Aldridge. Asik straight up won't work money wise.

EDIT: Knicks might need to add Hardaway Jr and Houston add Isaiah Canaan and send both to Portland to make this work.

yellowboy90 @ 7/24/2013 3:55 PM
I still don't see it. I guess they could make Lopez a rotation player but who knows.

Erm, wouldn't you rather we got Lamarcus Aldridge?

Why would you want Lin? An overpaid average PG. Dolan would ever allow him back anyways.

In this cba 8 mil for a point guard is a lot of money.

The Los Angeles Lakers have expressed interest in free agent Austin Daye, according to sources. Daye worked out for the Lakers today.

Smart move for Daye if he signs there. He will blow up playing for D'Antoni.
