You guys do realize that at this time of year, writers are just putting stuff out there and hoping it sticks. No reason to believe this even came out of New York. I don't believe the Monte thing at all.

Monta is good shooter and has a capability to pass too. Monta has shot 50% as a guard and not many of them do that. He almost always is a league leader in steals. The thing is Monta has always been in bad situations. He has made the playoffs a lead option which is a positive.
No way he takes the 3.1 we can offer. But if he did and JR walked I'd take it. Hypothetically, if he took 3.1M he'd only do it for 1 season. We'd have an excuse not to have JR on our books for 4 years. It would be great.

I would sign this guy in a heart beat. The guy never played with a legitimate front court. I hope we do sign him.
Not sure how we're supposed to acquire Monta Ellis with no cap room, but yeah, the guy shot 47% when he didn't play in an offense where the only other play worth a damn was an even smaller guard.

If we are going to get a guard lets focus on Rondo/Vasquez/Teague type players. We need floor generals with high assist numbers we already have the requisite one dimensional chucking spoken for on this roster.
