IDK - I think the Lakers lucked out. Dwight Howard is not going to be the centerpiece of their future - this can ONLY be a good thing, unless Howard suddenly grows a brain - but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm guesssing that most of us thought that's where Howard was going with the nucleus that was already there. And he has Hakeem to work with on his game free of charge. Would be funny if he charged Howard same rate as everyone else.

The next couple of seasons in LA are going to be interesting and filled with drama, I'm sure.

it works if they inlude Lin who they want to trade to get Calderon. Also, they will look to trade with Atl for Josh Smith, maybe Atl values tyson more, not likely though.

never doubt Woj!! I don't think who Howard picked was meant to come out this early. I have learned to never doubt Woj. His sources have turned out to be legendary for the past 2 years.

I am not sure what Kobe was thinking with his "Let me teach you how to win" speech. I am not an expert, but I don't think that was the best way to convince him to stay.

They were talking about it on first take and saying the same thing. Their take was that it wasn't meant to be a recruitment pitch but Kobe's way of getting in a dig at Howard. I read that Howard couldn't even make eye contact with LA when they made the pitch. Kobe might have thought that he wasn't coming to LA anyway.
