Bullock was supposed to be our pick. It was lined up that way during most of the pre-draft rankings. Plus, we had a hole at SF, already had Shump,JR,Felton at SG and Bullock is not only a knock down shooter, but a solid defender(Thought Woody loves defense?) that plays SG & SF....he played PF in college due to team injuries.
My guess is THj will be more of a dynamic slashing guard, with quicker 1 on 1 drives and explosiveness. Bullock is looking more like the next Allan Houston or Michael Redd type, with better defense.
I just don't see Hardaway becoming a better player than JR, in his prime. But at the 24th pick, if you can find a JR type, that’s a good deal. His defense is very suspect.

But I must admit that prior to the draft, I liked Allen Crabbe over him, because of his length *especially on DEF and OFF ,to get his shot off*, and seemed like slightly better shooter to me as well from the videos I saw
I believe he was chosen more for his "name" and pedigree than for his ability to play
His ceiling is closer to JR, I think he was less physically talented than JR was when he entered the league straight out from high school, however, THJ likely will be more mature/coachable with 3 years of college experience, with the guidance of Tim Hardaway himself at an early age
While Tim Hardway JR might have a higher ceiling than both these players, he doesn't have the DEFENSE that both these guy's possesses and their size as a legit SF
His size is an issue, he is closer to 6'3 - 6'4 than the 6'5 - 6'6, I see him listed at, on top of it, he does not have a great handle, although it is something he can work on
I don't buy that THJ was the best player available, I personally like Glen Rice JR more which I think can play SF better than THR
Unless THJ can develop to a PG, I just don't see it being a good pick, there was a good chance he would slip to the mid 2nd round had we not picked him
Hopefully I am wrong and he can develop in to a fine player for the Knick's, unfortunately, it is a sign to me that either JR or Iman is going to be moved in the near future, likely Iman from the history of trade rumors about Iman, to his possible extension in 2015 summer in which is the same year for all the FA's available, and to the latest SAS interview with D12
I think both Bullock and Allen Crabbe will be better "role players", mainly because of their DEFENSIVE ability and their ability is to catch and shoot effectively
More importantly, we don't have a legit SF and could really use one
CJ Leslie won't likely be able to contribute this year until he fills out his body

Although we have more talent at SF this season compared to last season, I don't think we even have a legit SF, ideally a player like Wilson Chandler's allround skillset, physical size/abilities, and his defensive abilities
Like Brigg's said earlier, James Ennis was a complete steal in the draft, and his body is NBA ready at SF

The way you described Tim Jr is how I envisioned him, more of a slasher who can also shoot. I would have picked Bullock as I take the two way player. We still got a nice player, Jr like with brains but bad shot selection. I just can't believe we passed on Bullock. He is shooting sooooo good already. Both Tim Jr and Bullock shot like they did in college, with JR showing more slashing, which is nice. I guess when Melo is out of the game it will be nice to have Tim Jr out there as he can create his own shot, but we have JR for that...
I have a feeling Tim Jr will be talked about very positively but that at the end of the year it will be clear we once again passed on the superior player.
Let's go easy. First, it's only summer league and two, you picked one of Reggie's good games but you also have to factor in his struggles. He's only shooting 28 percent from three in the summer. If there's one guy who's impressed me, it has been Ray McCollum. Dude has shown a lot of poise and I thin he's going to develop into a solid NBA point guard.
True Bigdaddy. I think I (like many here) are a little scarred and quick to jump the gun as past drafts have been, well, mostly bad. I keep thinking of all the PG's we passed up in that Holliday draft...
I guess our scouts saw something special in Tim Jr. and some boards had him as high as in the late teens, as some had Bullock.

It is just that every draft (pretty much) Briggs picks better players than our management does. Honestly, Briggs is at 70%-80% right on and our management is closer to 40%-50% with a much lower ceiling.
As I said before, the thing that bothers me about Tim Jr is his defense. I hope his shot gets better. He is a wet stroke, so hopefully the % has more to do with shot selection. Judging by his first two games, it needs to improve as was the case in college. Bullock seems to take good shots and play better defense but not have the driving ability (which is nice to have).
I am afraid I agree with you on Shump. JR Smith isn't going anywhere as I think he is the bastard child of the coach ;-) Shump might be on the block for a pg and I think just with his defense, he should not be given up. Not to mention his 3pt shooting has been amazing. That gives me hope for Tim Jr's shot improving (but just think how much better Bullock can be if that is the case.)
To those of you who have seen Bullock and Tim Jr play, what about their shooting forms? Tim Jr. has great form, so I think his lower shooting % is just shot selection...

When teams collapse on our bigs in the paint who do we have to knocks down shots now that Copeland Novak are gone and Jr Smith is hurt. How could we pass on Bullock that was a no brainer, now it's true he needs the ball in his hands to produce but Melo can't shoot by himself.

BY DEFAULT27. Tim Hardaway Jr., No. 24, Knicks: Looked pretty solid in the one and a half games he played, though he definitely fired a few too many difficult shots at the basket.
...and the guard the Knicks were rumored to have tried to trade up for...
3. Dennis Schroeder, No. 17, HawksThe most impressive 11-point, six-assist, 3.5-turnover, 34-percent shooter of all time. OK, maybe that's slight hyperbole, but Schroeder really turned heads in Las Vegas in ways that went beyond his statistics. He played at a pace advanced for his 19 years of age, gliding in jagged lines while beautifully changing speeds to manipulate any sort of room. He developed brilliant chemistry on the pick and roll with fellow rookie Lucas Nogueira, and handled a heavy offensive load well by finding his other three teammates for open shots. Defensively, he was brilliant, cutting off and hounding even the best lead guards he checked. He honestly looked like a young Rajon Rondo.
Sometimes, you can't measure a point guard's production by his numbers. As evidence, here's a nearly five-minute video of beautiful Schroeder passes that did not result in assists, either because his teammates missed or were fouled.
Throw in the tremendous pressure defense -- you can count the number of times he was smushed on a high pick and roll on one finger -- and it's clear Schroeder's impact went far beyond his somewhat pedestrian numbers. I honestly thought about putting him No. 1, but he'll settle for this spot.
