Me too, this second half has been like night and day for Tyler. Didn't see much of Drummond but I was impressed with his athleticism. He grabbed one rebound and threw it down like a vet.

The Iman Shumpert at PG experiment is going to be a disaster. He was playing well as a SG shooting it well doing explosive things as the season moved on--this is taking his game away from him. In turn it moves other players into bad position. I really liked Murry he looked like he's a tight player who can help the Knicks right away especially on D. Hardaway needs to use more diversity and dribble in his game--you saw exactly what his pros and cons are. he shot a low% for a reason hes streaky and also needs to get his body and dribble stronger to have that dribble drive game that is desperately needed to days NBA. CJ Leslie did not play with energy--he is supposed to be hurt??? I dont know--but not withstanding a few decent dribble moves he did not play with what he needs to play with speed athleticism and length. He'll be in the D league working on shooting and transitioning his game from 4 to 3. I read what Josh Boone said today and its true a lot of guys are good enough to play in the NBA but there is a difference between guys who work hard and guys who dont---the guys who work hard are the fringe and intermediate players getting nice nBA contracts and the slackers are playing in China. C J Leslie needs to work on his body and energy and hes a good enough athlete to invest a full year to get his body much harder--move up to 215-218 and find that jumpshot. He s got to play harder than what we saw today.
Vargas had a very nice release best looking J on the team(best form) the 7-3 monster is WWE not nBA Tyler needs a lot of work but hes a big guy who can rebound. Jennings is also raw but had some decent moments. The Knicks need to let each of the bigs play extended minutes 30+ each get a chance to get a rhythm etc.. but it was smart to take a look at some bigs. Rivers looked like the best player on the court by a mile. And they just traded for Evans and Holiday!!! Would they trade him to us for Hardaway:)
DaJuan Summers is a nice player. Thought that for awhile now, ever since G-Town. Very good feel offensively. Smooth offensive skills, can score it any number of ways..If we can't get Artest as a backup SF -- this guy wouldn't be terrible. He's a hybrid 3/4 that could help us out at both positions. The Knicks need to focus on fit & upping the talent level, not on how old these guys are. Older is not better. Last year's team proved as much. Go for talent, even if you have to go out on a limb and take chances on guys who haven't been playing in the NBA for years.

LOL. Well, that's the core 3 we're trying to win with here. Add Bargnani to that now...Now if you only had a limited amount of time to try and build around that to compete for a chip -- if you wanted a SG with this 1st round pick (keeping in mind we didn't have a #1 last year AND AGAIN next year), would you go for the unfinished project or the more polished, proven commodity? You just can't convince me that Hardaway Jr. is more NBA-ready than any of these other 2Gs that were picked after him. I mean who the F is evaluating the talent over there??

Come on nothing...I watched this kid enough during the year to the point where I had a good enough feel to not even consider him come draft time. When I eventually narrowed my board down, I never even gave him much thought honestly. I wasn't even thinking about taking a SG but I felt if the Knicks were, there were a handful of players I hoped they would've had pegged higher. I was wrong. And listen man, I hope I'm wrong on this kid. One team, one fight -- I'm all about the O&B -- I'm just going on the evidence -- what this team is, what shelf life our core has, who they ultimately took in the draft vs. who they left on the board, our lack of picks (last year and next--kinda had to get this pick right and make it count, no?), what this kid did in college and how long we might have to wait on him to develop properly, to the point where he's a consistent/fairly mistake-free player that can help us. Thorough, proper consideration of all the evidence involved.
A good buddy of mine stands by this pick -- calling it a 'safe pick.' Safe pick, to me, implies the player can be a factor right away. Does THJ look like a guy that can jump in right away head first and play 30+ mins a night at this level? I don't see that...Not yet.. I see a good kid whose game on both ends of the floor needs a lot of work. Fact -- there were more advanced SG prospects in this draft to choose from, bottom line. One of them, a good one--Reggie Bullock--was taken right after us in the draft and was on TV today right after the Knicks game. The difference between the players was on full display..If you have a different take, don't waste your time getting catty, criticizing what I say all the time -- give us your own thoughts.
If trading down was possible for 2-3 2nd rounders it would have made more sense to me
Again SG is one position we already had Iman and possibly JR resigning at so it just doesnt make sense for the team

THJ is definitely streaky but I like that he wasn't afraid to take it to rim. Showed a variety of moves and we can always use more instant offense off the bench.

No, THJ won't be starting any time soon. No one thought we were getting one when he got picked. If he can give us some scoring off the bench, then great. We've definitely picked worse.

If we sign Jeremy Tyler(2 yr please!), I think we more than make up for not drafting a big. He looks like he can give you some minutes now, can't say that about most young big men. Tyler is only 22 also.

As long as we don't see another tale of two halfs on a regular basis, Tyler would be a great pickup. Just needs work on his post game from what little I saw. Once Tyler started doing a better job of anticipating where on the floor he should be, Tyler turned things around.
