Might already be a done deal.

I like that we still got outraged about the Nets owner and his underhand dealings with AK 47 though

True. These sweetheart deals happen sometimes because a player really wants to join a contender.

smith doesnt appear to have a hush hush deal. He is lining up workouts with other teams.

Glad to hear it. JR's performance in the playoffs might have put the kibosh on one.

For those of you that liked Henry Sims from last year's Summer League team:

http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york/knicks/...

Henry Sims' agent, Todd Eley, said he chose the Bobcats' summer league team over the Knicks' for his client because of a potential better opportunity for him to sign a rookie's minimum contract. That's because Woodson has preferred veteran frontcourt players. However, Eley said the Knicks might be willing to develop a younger big this time around, and that he'd still explore an opportunity for Sims there.

Jennings and Murry should be locks.

He might be skinny but he has played well. During the game they said he was really bad on D in the D league. He seemedl ike he blocked a lot of shots to me. I have not paid much attention to his positional and team D yet.

Anyone notice Woody confirmed what some posters suspected during the first game- that THJr is smaller than listed- he said he was 6-4, 6-5 rather than his listed height of 6-6.
GustavBahler @ 7/15/2013 6:42 AM
Just read that Leslie was coming off a hip injury so there was some rust. Still looked good however.

most all of the first round guys get measured so this is no real surprise.

Thats the reason why I wanted Bullock. He's a legit 6'7 that can play both guard or small forward positions.

THj might be smaller than JR Smith. He will have problems guarding most SG's and SF's. But they will have problems guarding him, since he can drive and shoot. Hard to stop both.

Kind of a running joke in the NBA, I know the guys on TNT joke about it all the time.

Jack Cooley has been very consistent and tearing up the summer league

He is undersized but is comparable to a young/undeveloped David Lee
Cooley has always been a very good rebounder and has the REB instincts like Lee
Some games he even hit some 3pt's to add to his arsenal
Like Lee, problem is he is a tweener, somewhere between a SF, PF, PF/C
Will never be a good defender like Lee, but could develop to a very under rated player and good rebounder that goes undrafted

Andrew Goudelock formerly a Laker has been great as well, as a G

I know this is is only Summer League but felt these guys are worth a good look at, and there are a few more UFA's that deserves at least a training camp invite

Jack cooley has been very good. Hes got a big body and he plays his role well--just like David Lee--hes not Lee but hes good hes an NBA player a true 4 man. Hes been the 3rd best big man from this draft class--he s strong and just eats boards.

Some team who needs a 4 is going to offer Cooley a 3 year rookie contract.

Miami's defense is amazing. Can't remember ever seeing a summer league team get after it on d like this group. Does anyone know who the coach is for the Heat's summer squad? The guy has these guys working really hard on d.

Yep, he will have flaws with his lack of size, just like Lee, just like Faried, but do you want to concentrate on what he can do or can't do is the question
Like Lee, he has the ability to improve, work hard on his body, and add to his skill set

Honestly, we need help on OFFENSE and DEFENSE, because Woodson's philosophy is very flawed and does not work vs contending teams in the play offs
I watch the "Mike Woodson Show" and he wants to implement the same philosophy that worked for the Detroit team that won a ring for all his lineups/rotations, not factoring the strengths/weaknesses/DEF abilities/BB IQ/speed,quickness,athleticism,length of his players on the floor
It simply doesn't FIT and that is why it doesn't work, yet he doesn't see it
Worse of all, he is so damn stubborn, and lacks creativeness, so I think it something he must admit and change himself or management with Grunweld/Dolan must step in to fix

Ron do you know who is coaching the Heat's summer league team? They were playing the suffocating defense the Heat play in the first quarter(not watching now). I wonder if they have someone on the bench like a future Thibs.

No, you do have to credit the DEFENSE of the Heat but we are lacking weapons with a 2nd ball handler, scorers, shooters, and playing 2 Centers in Jerome Jordan and Tyler

Vmart @ 7/17/2013 11:36 PM
Didn't the Heat play in Orlando? It seems they look like a cohesive unit that has some games under their belt.
