Knicks · OT: Clevland got Andrew Bynum (page 1)

EnySpree @ 7/10/2013 8:44 PM
Clevland is going really hard this off season
loweyecue @ 7/10/2013 8:48 PM
They see setting up for Lebron - not sure what Bynum will do. I would like to see him play a full season.
MS @ 7/10/2013 8:54 PM
No fooling if Cleveland is healthy the Knicks are lucky to finish ahead of them.

Anderson is better than Chandler and Bynum if healthy is an elite player. Throw in Thompson, Waiters, there pick and Irving the Knicks wouldn't be able to beat them in a series.

Maybe he goes down with an injury again, but the Knicks and their idea of building an actual team is a disgrace. Bad teams stay bad for a reason. NBA is simple if you get the right people in place, don't overpay shitty marginal role players and play the right way.

Broken down old guys and rebuilding for a decade gets them one playoff victory. Impressive

they ain't getting lebron...this is some fantasy ish...
EnySpree @ 7/10/2013 9:02 PM

I didn't say they were getting Lebron, I said they were setting up to try. Just like we were a couple years ago.

It would have been cooler if the Knicks were acquiring players that could play instead of moving young players and picks when they made their run at Lebron. Cleveland has something to go to.

Yes, I posted on a couple of threads during draft night and when the trades were going down they are going to be a really good team. Too bad I am in the blackout area but 100 plus miles from Cleveland so I can't see any games. :(

smackeddog @ 7/11/2013 3:27 AM
Great contract too- very tradeable. 2 years, second a team option and only $6mil of the $12mil in the first is guaranteed. Glad no team offered him a ridiculous contract- I don't see his knees making a magical recovery.
Jmpasq @ 7/11/2013 7:26 AM
Smart move getting the 2nd Team option year now if he plays well and they want their cap space a team will be sending them picks and a expiring deal at the deadline. Team options what an amazing thing huh Knicks.

I would rather have the Cavs roster then ares even if they miss the playoffs and Bynum never plays. If that team was in NY with cap space Max FA"s would be fighting with each other to take are money.

VCoug @ 7/11/2013 8:32 AM
It's a great signing for them but if it were me I would've tanked one more season since this upcoming draft is supposed to be amazing.

Yeah but they may think they are a playoff team even without Bynum

Nalod @ 7/11/2013 9:31 AM
Smart deal. IF he sucks they only paid 6mil. If he comes back, and since we don't have his charts to make a prediction then they got a tradable asset as he will want to establish his bird rights and one season might not be proof enough for some teams.

If Lebron wants in , they can take him off the books.

If he plays well they can trade Anderson with another yoot and maybe get a top 5 pick in return.

Tanking holds no promises anymore and if anything the statistical probabilty of having three no.1 picks in a row has stretched lady luck.

They have a nice future three years after lebron bolted.

If he wants back in they could be built for a very long run with that kind of Yoot and talent.

If not they can always trade for more experience.

Just me guessing but I would have to think Lebron would find it very appealing to win a chip in cleveland and make good on his mistake. I don't know Lebron but from what i read I don't think he regrets leaving, but regrets the decision.

You never know. If the Heat win again this upcoming season, Lebron has 3 wings and could choose to stay in Miami with a regressing Wade or go back home and play on a team that will be better than any team he had there before. I was listening to Chris Broussard on ESPN radio the other day and he stated that he believes that Lebron has no idea what he is going to do at this time.

JayNYC @ 7/11/2013 10:51 AM
Cleveland did well this offseason, definitely upgraded.. and I agree.. present a challenge in the Eastern Conference. Gotta see what it's like on the court, another potential paper champ

Its very logical. What Cavs do is give Lebron a option when its time to decide. Lebrons people have to map out the possibilties as does Melo and his CAA minions. Knicks understand perhaps if they wanted melo and retain him they won't do a rebuild with him on the roster.

They can also have a gentlemans agreement that if he wants to leave NY as he did in Denver he would request a trade which keeps his bird rights and compensates the team. I thought he handled his exit from denver very well. I know Knick fans wanted him to come via free agency and all the good that comes with that.

Water Cooler talk says...

It's a big if as he's Greg Oden status right now...but if Bynum is healthy

Cleveland Got Betterer

number of games bynum, verejao and irving will play respectively.

cleveland has botched 3 first round picks already or they would've been so much further along.

bynum? lol - he's finished.

smackeddog @ 7/11/2013 1:01 PM
This myth that Lebron is going back to Cleveland is as ridiculous as Melo going to LA, but I guess if lazy journalists repeat a story based on nothing enough times, people start to believe it!
