Young: The Knicks trading for Bargnani. Every day things change, but basically they stay the same. The Knicks acquired Bargnani -- a one-dimensional player who doesn't appear to improve them in any apparent way -- and exchanged future draft picks to do it. It's the kind of move the Knicks have been making the past 15 years.
NAILED IT.

Damn, that's cold. But is it far from the truth? This franchise has made some brutal moves.
The best line in that article is "Other than as a stealth entry into the Andrew Wiggins sweepstakes, this move [Bargnani to the Knicks} is incomprehensible."

we have no 2014 pick
Blah Blah Blah! The media is always talking crap. They didn't think the Knicks were gonna do much this year and they ended up better than their beloved Nets who were supposed to be better than the Knicks. They can rag on AB but if we had him this year I bet we get past the Pacers. All we needed were a couple of timely made shots. Despite all the rebounding edge the game came down to missed or made shots by the Knicks that were wide open.

We had a player on the bench that could do the exact same things

We kept Prigs and JR over that player. Bargs move was separate. The argument should be if we should have not retained Prigs and resigned Cope. In terms of players actually playing, The Bargs move was essentially a trade of Novak for AB.

Yes, of course...... I specifically mentioned "players actually playing" in my post. But undoubtedly someone will come and remind everyone of the 3 draft picks. For some reason, when it comes to the media and some posters here regarding the Knicks.......2nd round picks are extremely important. But for other teams, they don't even mention picks. As an example......Look at the linked article for instance, no mention that the Nets gave up 3 first rounders and the rights to swap a fourth.
So because draft picks aren't mentioned in all trade articles, therefore they have no value? I don't get it.

Breaking News! ESPN says Knicks su
ck! Again!
Stay tuned, TNT airing Charles Barkley interview with JVG to discuss why Charles was actually right about the the Nyet's last year, because the Knicks really do suck!
Knicks lose in playoffs to the Hibbert Monster because we didn't have anyone that could spread/stretch him on the floor like the Heat did.
Knicks trade three bench/sub-bench players (and some very very valuable draft picks, since we'll not be visiting the lottery any time soon) for someone who possibly could spread the Hibbert thing across the floor, but Knicks still suck, because they're the Knicks!
Knicks don't suck, they just aren't good at winning championships. There are many teams in the NBA that don't play for championships it just so happens the Knicks are one of the teams. The way I see it next year the Heat have it locked up so everyone is playing for attendance. Some smart teams are playing to tank Boston now imagine Olnyk and Wiggins they will be good very quickly.
Picks don't have value until you realize many teams role players came from the 2nd round or were stashed euro's that contribute.
They can have huge value.
what we don't know is how good bargs will be so like many things we have to see what happens.
Personally like the addition even with the risks.
I thought Bargs with MDA at the helm would have been a hell of a thing last year and I think we have been trying to get him for some time (just based on what I read). He is a bigger priority now that Amare if healthy will still be limited.
Championships? It would be nice but I can't see being miserable every year it don't happen.
This is what I think of ESPN and their analysis and predictions:

Pure bullshyt!

They seem to be pretty important to the Spurs

The heat didn't win because they spread the floor with shooters. They won because they played ferocious D and dominated the paint, beating the pacers at their own game.

Take a closer look at the picks. Next years second round pick is projected to be the 59th overall pick in the draft. The other second round pick is for 2017. Four years from now Melo will be 33, Tyson 34 and Bargs 31. Can't see hanging onto that pick if you have the opportunity to move bad contracts and get a player that will help you in the present and has the potential to be a major steal. The first round pick in 2016 will be a late pick, 21-30 most likely. The Knicks are trying to win now. Hoping that in three years they can get a quality role player late in the first rather then going after someone that can help now and help their cap makes sense.

and ESPN HAS ALWAYS hated on the Knicks. Barkley has been salty since the KNicks brough out the broom on his ass. Charles doesn't know the meaning of the word unbiased where the Knicks are concerned.
You want an honest opinion about the KNicks, ESPN is not the place to go, has not been the place to go since Ewings early years. So, anyone using ESPN to push their negative agenda with the Knicks is a tool.

They are going to be loaded very quickly.Tons of cap room coming. They have 2 1st round picks in 4 of the 5 next drafts.Outside of landing Lebron we wont be able to compete with them. 1 day when Dolan is gone we may win a championship hopefully I wont be dead. Thank god the other teams im a fan of are run well. Ive seen my other favorite teams win at least 3 championships each
