Kmart can still get the money the knicks gave because they have his non-bird rights so they can offer 1.4 + 20% which is around 1.69 million. So if k-mart wants it he has that on the table.
RonRon wrote:hope you guys realize MWP
is more of a PF at this point of his career and not a SF with his lack of speed
Melo also actually fits the PF more because he hates defending SF's that can shoot because he likes to go for the REB, 90% of the time
Problem is we don't have a legit mobile shot blocking Center
I didn't watch a lot of laker games. Looking at the box scores it looked like Ron started at the 3 and Pau or Earl Clark started at the 4 with d12 as a the center. Did Clark defend small forwards more?

he did play SF and PF for the Laker's
And it was part of the weakness in "lack of speed/athleticism" in addition to the lineup of
PG
Kobe
Artest
Pau/Clark
D12

D12 and Pau @ Center are also much more skilled on OFF and better shot blockers than Tyson Chandler, yet they still had matchup problems
To finish games, depending on matchups vs opponents
Murry/Iman/Felton
JR
Melo/Iman
MWP/Melo
Barg's/Kmart
would probably give us our most balance in terms of OFF and DEF, with Barg's at C it would allow JR to penetrate like he showed he was capable of doing
With Barg's @ C, we could have 5 3pt shooters, with much room to operate in the paint with the spacing needed for the combination of penetration, post up's, and cuts
And EVERYONE can rebound in that lineup outside of Barg's, who would likely need to give much more effort that Woodson demands on DEF and REB
Murry and JR, would likely be our 2 combo guards that have the ability to push the tempo which we lacked last year

I'll be happy either way. I'm sure Melo wouldn't mind going back to SF. Up to Woodson.

Well with Melo at SF or MWP, at times he has the chance to LEAD and LEAK out on fast breaks and finish on easy transition baskets, especially to push tempo, without having to worry about rebounding the ball with Metta here
They are both very strong but not really mobile
But I like both of them together because in theory, one of them should be able initiate our offense to banging/posting up/out muscle, whoever is defended by the SF with most teams, especially if Barg's is used to spread the floor at C
I think MWP should be utilized similar to how Battier is used on the Heat
However, we don't have a Lebron *all round skill set and lock down defensive ability* and/or the Heat's speed/hiqh IQ TEAM defensive schemes
We need them bad, we'll get them bad. As bad as we can find them...
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Too bad we can't get Dalembert and keep Chandler. K-Mart need to be resigned but, he 4 not a Center. The problem is that, the ones we can afford are little better (if at all) than some of the guys I have seen in Summer League.
