Lol, you mean the other Bobby Brown

Brown or Tourre'?

Both. Tourre is more of a 2.

Zwerling also had this toward the end of his K-Mart article..

Wouldn't be terrible. Looks like what we need -- a direct contrast to PP. We really needed another quicker/uptempo PG and this guy fits the bill. Nice offensive game which'll help on that 2nd unit. Always been a solid 3-pt shooter going back to Cal State Fullerton. More familiar with Aaron Brooks -- that's the guy I really wanted but this guy looks similar enough. Would be a good move to fill a need.

In a continuing search for deeper point guard depth, the New York Knicks conducted a workout with free-agent guard Bobby Brown in Las Vegas on Tuesday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Yahoo! Sports

The Knicks are considering Brown with one of their remaining veteran minimum slots, sources said. The Knicks need a third point guard to play behind Raymond Felton and Pablo Prigioni. Yahoo! Sports

I sent out a couple Twitter msgs out to recruit BobbyBrown to Knick's
Alan Han, Zerling, and a few more
Doubt I had anything to do with it but very glad they are bringing him in

I forgot but I saw Bobby Brown from someone here and youtubed him and was quite impressed
Compared Brown to a poor man's Bayless and Murry to a poor man's Jarret Jack *before he improved his PG skills*

Instead of using the rest of the MLE for Metta World Peace so he can make only 200k more because he is already a 10year vet, saving it for another player/players would make much more sense
IF MWP really wanted to play for NYK, I highly doubt 200k would make a difference for him,
Players with much more value and become asset's at their deals like

Nate Robinson
Udrih

Dalembert
Byron Mullens

maybe

James Johnson

Patty Mills
Aaron Brooks
AJ Price

and/or possibly other FA's with more potential/value, with cuts/amnesty

The worse case scenario, would save us from possibly Lin/Copeland scenarios, and for 2015 FA's we have the ability to keep 2 younger players with upside that are cost efficient
I would have use the rest of the MLE, dividing it to give 3 year contracts, TEAM OPTION's, to both Murry and Bobby Brown
Instead of the first year salary of under 500k and it would be a greater incentive to perform with TEAM OPTIONS
As for the 3rd year, it would be the same year Chandler/Amare all expire, with all the best UFA's in NBA history in 2015 summer to retool
So keeping them with the rest of the MLE, would allow us keep rotational players/positions under contract and a minimum scale to target the big names we want, likely 3 players at 15m per year

I really like both players but watching Murry, I think he is a great pickup for PG/SG on both ends that could contribute right now and still have potential to grow/develop

How many guards should we carry, though?

PG Felton that is more of a 2
PG Prigioni that is our only real 1
SG Shumpert that should be a 2
SG Smith that is the "backup" 2
SG Hardaway Jr. that should play some 2

I do think we need a backup PG but also think the rest we need is big men

With only 4 roster spots left and no real backup C on the team where two backup Cs should be recommendable, especially with the talented young big men we have in the summer league roster, I wonder if getting both Brown and Tourre, or any other combination of two guards, is the right way to go.

I hope MWP is willing to take less, since I don't see anything OFFICIAL about him signing for the rest of MLE from the Knick's side, just like how we all thought JR had a 4 year deal but had a 3 year deal with player option on 3rd year

We need speed/quickness with the ability to penetrate/facilitate/ hit the wide open 3pter, and stay in front of opponents PG's
With Murry and Bobby Brown, we have that, while Pablo would be a great mentor for them, with his IQ and experience to go with Murry's and Brown's physical abilities/potential

I think we outbid our selves for Pablo, giving him a 2 year vet min deal with player option on 2nd year should be enough

especially for a 37 year old instead of a 3 year deal with partial guarantee on 3rd year *which would make him 39-40* during the end of his contract
Most importantly, saving our MLE instead, would even rather retain Copeland and he worse, he would be a tradeable asset as a stretch PF/C that shoot's over 40% 3pointers and would be in demand as an asset for his skillsets/versatility and ability to stretch the floor
He is NOT just a 3pt shooter, he could play as a TOP 3 option, playing on and off the ball, going inside/out with post ups and timely cuts, and create for a TEAM like he showed he was capable of doing during our late season push to get 54 wins

EnySpree @ 7/17/2013 10:26 AM
I'm a huge fan of this guy. He would need two years so we can retain him if he explodes. He is very good. He's like video game. His handle is to notch, he can shoot andhe can jump out the gym.

He looks legit but wouldn't he make more $$$ if he continued to play overseas? I think I read somewhere that's the reason he went over to begin with.

Looks like a good signing if it happens.

3Rd pg is great, but from all accounts, woodson is going with a traditional sg considering we have 2 coming off the bench..so who ever we sign won't be getting many min if any at all..unless injuries occur this guy maybe burried on the bench..
Vmart @ 7/17/2013 12:46 PM
I wonder if Brown gets his shot blocked a lot. The ball never gets above his head when he shoots jumpers. This would be an excellent pick up.
ChuckBuck @ 7/17/2013 1:14 PM
That boy got moves!

Sign him up!

Yes. Not to mention that the money he makes from the Knicks only makes it cheaper for LA, who pay him 50% less, so its only $100K. I wonder why they did this.

His shooting delivery and his build are kinda simialr to Ty Lawson. His first step probably create enough space to get his J off. But it doesn't look like he was much of shooter during his last stint in the league.

I would take both

Brown reminds of a poor mans Baron Davis/Bayless/bigger JJ Barea
Tourre reminds me of a poor mans Jarret Jack before he learned to become a legit PG
Murry has very good defensive instincts to go with his size, length, and decent combination of speed/quickness/athleticism
He has the ability to defend PG, SG, and maybe even some SF like Iman, and should make the team because he has decent "potential" in addition to the injury status of JR Smith

Like Copeland, neither are REAL ROOKIES and have played around Europe/D League for some time to increase maturity, develop their games, and gain confidence
I hope this time, we at least get a 2nd year TEAM option, and would give them a 2 year partial guarantees vs just a 1 year vet min deal

Rather would have used the rest of the MLE to have partial guarantees on 1st year, team options on 3 year deals for low risk/high reward
At worse we cut them and if they become rotational players, they are locked in for 3 years at a cheap salary had we went this route
And we would have full bird rights in the summer after the 2015 FA class where we are looking to rebuild through UFA's
