My Heart is broken

He has a buyout until the 15th August- basically he's giving us 2 weeks or he goes to China.

Frustrating -- just looking over his rumor page over at hoopshype -- Zwerling indicates that he'd much rather join the Knicks than go to China. China's offer is for $1.2m; we can offer roughly 800k, yet Zwerling said he spoke to him personally and he'd rather the Knicks and the NBA over China. I mean WTF, have we even made an offer?? And yeah, 2 week window to get something done before he goes to China...Not sure what there is to think about from the Knicks' perspective here -- the dude has a lot of game, we can clearly use another PG with some speed and skill, Brown prefers the NBA to China and it looks like he's willing to take less...WTF are we doing?!? Get this done!!!

Guess we at least now know why we're dragging our feet- Knicks want Udrih, so I suppose Bobby Brown in the (or a) fallback option. Who would you rather have?

Udirih definitely. He's more of a known quantity and I've liked him for some time. But I don't want to be left w/o a chair when the music stops. I want Brown if we can't get Udirih. Hopefully the Knicks are in constant touch with Brown and have told him flat out that he's the immediate plan B. But then there's all this Delonte West stuff out there too. West can play but he's a thug and a headcase. How many headcases can you possibly have on one team?? Udirih if he's even realistic, then immediately offer Brown a contract. That's how I'd go. And I'd also ink up Earl Barron to a vet minimum deal for a little more frontcourt insurance. Not sure why that hasn't been done already..

Yeah, I agree in that our front court worries me. At least it feels like we have some options as our third PG (and I like all 4 of them- I think Murry is still in play too), but our front court bench consists of K-Mart and I'm doubtful of his durability. Is Tyler enough or do we need to add another vet? It seems like we won't sign another veteran and will just add a summer leaguer at training camp. We need rebounding, damn it!

Agreed. To me, Earl Barron addresses these needs.

Odd to see people mentioning Barron and how he addresses our needs. When I was begging for Woodson to give him some burn during the playoffs considering how we were being killed on the boards, a shyt load of you guys made me feel like I was the only sane man in an insane world.

Not me -- ever since we had Barron the first time around and I saw what he could do (legit 7' with a great nose for the ball, he rebounds very well, can stick that mid-range J), I became an instant fan. Liked him ever since that first game against the Clippers on the road a couple of years ago... Loved the pick up the 2nd time around too. And yeah, I agree that Woody should've played him against Indy...Anytime this guy gets extended mins I feel he puts up an instant double-double with ease. I feel this guy could start for half the teams in the NBA. I actually think you could make a legit case that he's a better player than Ty Chandler pound for pound. He provides a quality 2-way backup center that could be a real equalizer on the glass for us against bigger teams (Indy for one). I mean anytime we're getting killed on the glass, Woody would have the option of going twin towers up front with plus rebounding -- Chandler, Barron and Melo for example. And if say Chandler and Amar'e were both out at the same time, this guy would be a real quality fill-in to throw out there, a guy that pulled down, what, 18 rebs that first game back against the Hawks -- and that was out of shape, rusty where he wasn't even given proper rest during that game -- Woody kinda threw him to the dogs that game and left him out there huffin' & puffin'. I really hope we bring this guy back man. Makes too much sense.

Gimmie Udirih or Brown as the extra PG, Barron as the extra big and whoever else to round out the roster and I think we're ready to roll.

Was Barron hurt during the playoffs? I know he was hurt at the start of the post season. Not sure how long that injury lingered for him.
RonRon @ 8/1/2013 3:12 PM
Both Camby and Earl Barron were both in the doghouse while Chandler was getting constantly abused on both ends and Kmart was too small for Hibbert

he was not hurt he just had cramps like Shump. He played too many minutes for it being his first game of the season.

It means that those players are on the west coast and getting in some floor work.

Happens all the time- players get together and play. CP3 and Melo are friends, CP3 and Griffin are teammates, Melo and MWP are teammates, Bobby Brown wants to be a Knick, all are in LA- why not?

That will be the third time we've worked him out! Wonder who the other two are.

Saw other writers say he is going to do another hands on workout with 2 other people. I guess the Knicks want to see what he has before his aug 15th deadline.

EnySpree @ 8/6/2013 5:16 PM
All they have to do is call Metta world peace cuz he just played against him in the drew league. Kevin Durant was Bobby brown teammate. Bobby dropped 30pts in that game....

Call Melo too cuz Bobby had also been playing pickup with pros at the clippers facility. This guy is a good ball player. He has to prove it in the nba but i think he totally will immediately.

The #Knicks' top free agent priority remains veteran PG Beno Udrih. I don't think they will sign anyone else until they hear from Beno.

Why would they fly this guy to nyc just to workout? They already did that in Vegas....

Maybe they are trying to put pressure on Beno to sign. But why would beno sign for a minimum deal when he can get 3 mill somewhere else? Its a pipe dream, but regardless, i can't see Bobby brown going back home and not signed with the knicks. To me it just sounds like a big waste of time

Maybe because he was playing with Knick guys out there and they said good things? Not really sure what is going on but they certainly have handled his situation in an unusual way. Zwerling said Brown told him he was going to be offered a contract by the Knicks and then nothing happened.
