Knicks might be smart to sign Barron as insurance for KMart,Amare and Tyson. That would still leave two spots for the young guys or a young guy and a point guard.

No 1 is signing Barron they can have him whenever they want

I like it, but do we have one big that has a history of good health? Ugh
ToddTT@ 7/24/2013 7:34 PM
I can dig it.

Lol... I think Earl needs a new agent. Or more skills.

I wasn't excited about the signing last year... but he proved me wrong. Happy to have him back. He earned it although I'm surprised he didn't get any other offers.
For his age, he's still in pretty good shape. He spent a couple of weeks after being signed last year just getting his legs under him so it'll be great for him to be there at training camp and motivating the other guys. I've never seen a guy get so up in a teammate's face like he does.

Holy crap I miss basketball. Can't wait for the season to begin!!!

Good signing - def need the defense.
loweyecue@ 7/24/2013 8:29 PM
In fact, I think it was critical to resign him to balance out Amare and Bargs not playing defense and MElo choosing when he wants to play some.
misterearl@ 7/24/2013 9:32 PM
We talkin bout practice
Kenyon Martin going against Jeremy Tyler in practice will be entertaining. Tyler will learn to play defense the old school way, or else he goes home.
CrushAlot@ 7/24/2013 9:57 PM
I might be wrong but I am pretty sure this was the play after Martin got called for ticky tack contact and said, "now that's a foul."

Metta and KMart can be the new version of Bump and Thump or McFilthy and McNasty.

too bad Wallace didn't stay and coach - we could have had the top three career leaders in technical fouls!

I said the same thing in the thread about Barron. Can't see how it could possibly hurt the team but, I'd rather they took some time before rushing into that. Grunny needs to shake the trees a bit more and hope he can bring in someone who can be relied on to play big minutes if necessary.

Earl Barron? he was pretty good i think he dropped 11/10 for us in april of maybe 2010
Clean@ 7/25/2013 7:46 AM
I am glad KMart is back. Now sign Tyler,Murry and Bobby brown to fill out the roster. I think we can surprise a lot of people next season, just like last season. Hopefully we can get deeper into the playoffs this time.

espn has him listed on the roster....not sure if that is accurate but, if so, I hope Woody plays him this time around.

The free agent tracker on nba.com has him as a free agent. Not sure what his status is but I think he would be a good pick up.

my guess is that although he may have a very decent big man body, he is dumb as a block. No other reason he can't stick on a team.

Even dumb players stick with a team when they have a useful skillset. I think the Weed conviction scared teams off.

never heard of the weed conviction but that would make sense too.
