Knicks · Knick trying to get Udirih (page 10)

Is whining about negativity any better?

Probably not, but is posting every possible statistic and factoid to try and prove how much the Knicks players and team sucks on a Knicks fan board any better either?

Yes, because you're sharing actually evidence in that case.

Even you can acknowledge you've gotten much more negative in tone, right? You're probably only 12 to 18 months away from TKF territory at this rate!

Would rather take at his brother Jeremy to be honest with you lol The list of available free agent point guards because depressing when you start getting down to the Jannergo Pargos of the world.

Yes considering I had the Knicks as the #4 most likely to win last year after the hot start. Behind miami san antonio and okc. Ahead of the bulls and pacers. Until they leveled off at .500 played inconsistently on both ends. Felton and Kidd regressed. Tyson regressed. Melo shooting percentage dipped to 44% because he wasn't getting the same easy looks as others regressed. JR was the epitome of inconsistency. Melo was banged up halfway through the year because he was playing the 4. We couldn't rebound. Yea my tone changed and so has the east. Last year was our best shot. IMO we got incremently better while the east got drastically better and healthier

Me too. Jeremy Pargo can play. Off to Russia though -- just signed a 2-year deal to go play in Moscow. Quick, strong PG with handle and big-time hops...Much better than Jannero imo. Hard to believe this guy can't find steady work in the NBA.

Yeah, so you're basically 12 to 18 months behind TKF. You don't sound that much more positive than him.

well how about stop posting about your disdain regarding Melo in every thread. You do that and I am sure the troll posts will stop.
Let me give you and example of such a post that has nothing to do with topic and all about you and your dislike of one player, your post in this thread about Udrih:
tkf wrote:why is it taking a lot of convincing to get him here? i thought all free agents would flock here to come play with carmelo? or so I was told...If this was only a 1-off I don't think anyone would really care and I certainly wouldn't, but it's not. You created this situation yourself and I'd really like it to stop. I don't mod opinions, but I will mod the health of the forums and posts like the above when the track record matches.
Generally, this thread should be about Udrih and the Knicks and a 3rd PG.
that is a bit of a stretch martin and you know it, every thread?.. but how about this.. how about some balance in every thread? does every move, every conversation have to include
* this person matches well with melo
* melo needs protection
* this guy can team up with meloamd it goes on, and on, and on.. be it disdain or extreme homerism, shouldn't it be modded the same way? is one better than the other because you happen to agree with it?
why is it taking a lot of convincing to get him here? i thought all free agents would flock here to come play with carmelo? or so I was told...and that is a legitimate comment, considering that the main argument used to defend carmelo is that he will attract other players here... which I have yet to see...
but that is cool martin, as you said.. this thread was supposed to be about udrih.. so I will move on.
I am done talking about it anyway... because the new flavor of the day now is Pargo... so I guess this is old news..
and this is why other users keep posting troll remarks and refer to you when you bring up Melo for no apparent reason, you have no understanding of the nuance or my explanation.
You are way overboard and I don't think you realize it.
ok martin and this is the last I am going to respond on this in this thread, because you did say this was supposed to be a udrih thread..and I was ready to move on.... and I know you are going to get the last word, so I won't respond after this....
I have been a mod for many years, and honestly martin, you are not doing a good job modding if you are going to basically tell a poster that he deserves to be name called.. I understand this is your site and you can run it like you want, but I just don't think this is effective modding martin...
If you think I am overboard with the carmelo thing, and I am not saying that I may not be pressing it a bit.... but if you feel that then tell me, but then also tell posters we are not going to have this troll stuff, because believe me, it is used even with carmelo's name is not mentioned.. and you allow it..
I am asking that you be consistent and fair, even if it is with something you don't agree with.... lets have some balance. I agree, extremes are not good, doesn't matter if it is negative, or laced with homerism..... telling a poster he basically deserves to be name called only encourages a mob mentality.. Is that what you want? I like this site because I thought opinions even unpopular ones, could be expressed, as long as done respectfully? Have I been disrespectful? NO... I will say this...I used to have to defend other posters rights to their opinion, even though I didn't agree with them at all.. that was my job, and honestly what good modding is about... I just expect the same as a poster.
when the fanbase starts turning their hatred towards bargnani this year, as the new scapegoat, I wonder if it will be ok when he is trashed from thread to thread.... I wonder if anyone will be called a troll or modded when they continually talk about how much they dislike bargs...heck, or even felton, or amare and his bad knees... but hey.. we will see....

People used to do the same thing to Isiah detractors.
Just let people be themselves and post their thoughts. As long as nobody is insulting other members and saying derogatory and offensive things then they should be allowed to post freely. This is a basketball forum on the internet. If people are getting offended by someone else's basketball opinion then they need to check themselves. If you can't handle someone disagreeing with you on the internet then how do you handle it in real life?

So no. Someone is a troll because of the constant unbiased negativity. thats all

An internet forum is a Community of sorts. When the balance of that community is continually challenged to the detriment of everyone's enjoyment - than it is acceptable for the Moderator (or site owner) to step in and operate in the best interest of his/her site. I think this is what some people do not seem to understand. Reading/Posting on a forum is not a democracy. We are all here because we enjoy both the Knicks and the environment on this site. All are entitled to stay or leave freely. Some however feel that it is their god given right to do or say anything they want on such a forum. When what they say is either so acutely out of line.....or so chronically out of line.....it is up to the mod to keep the balance in check.
In this case - if you say the same basic things over and over and over again ..... so much so that even the casual poster notices ....it is a chronic problem.

good post.
no matter what it comes down to, this is martin/andrew's site. they are the ones that pay for it, they are the ones that do the work on it, they are the ones who mod it. personally, i dont think either is out-of-bounds when they police it, no matter how they choose to do so.
my post has nothing to do with any posters or even anything going on now. i think everyone just needs to remember that this IS martin/andrew's site. if they tell you to cut something out, accept and deal with it or move elsewhere. over the course of my 9+ years here, i haven't seen too many examples, if any, of them treating anyone unfairly. i wish some posters would come back, but hey, some leave (or get banned) and don't.

it is funny you say that.. tell me what I have said that is so chronically out of line or acutely out of line?
And you are right it is not a democracy.. so why mention the balance of the community being challenged?.. what should really only matter is what the site owner or mod says right?
Some however feel that it is their god given right to do or say anything they want on such a forum.
really? most sites have a code of conduct.. if I haven't violated them.. what is the problem.... your statement is not true..
I have been a mod for many years, I understand, well understand the TOS or code of conduct however it is termed.... if you stay within those boundaries, the site, NOT GOD..... but the site owners are pretty much telling you, that you are free to express your opinion... I usually only talk basket ball, I don't participate in many other threads non-basketball related, I don't post pictures in the alba thread( not that there is anything at all wrong with it, although I enjoy looking at the pics).. so again, you are so far off base with this "saying anything they want" it is hilarious..

great post, a lot of the negativity here is based on retaliation on different opinions of the decisions of the team and opinions of players currently on the team or ex players of the team
There are always going to be constructive criticism and different opinions but if there was actual respect regarding each other's opinions/posts' EVEN if you don't agree with them then it simply would cut most of the drama, not needed there is here
