Knicks · Knick trying to get Udirih (page 11)

People used to do the same thing to Isiah detractors.

Just let people be themselves and post their thoughts. As long as nobody is insulting other members and saying derogatory and offensive things then they should be allowed to post freely. This is a basketball forum on the internet. If people are getting offended by someone else's basketball opinion then they need to check themselves. If you can't handle someone disagreeing with you on the internet then how do you handle it in real life?

great post, a lot of the negativity here is based on retaliation on different opinions of the decisions of the team and opinions of players currently on the team or ex players of the team

There are always going to be constructive criticism and different opinions but if there was actual respect regarding each other's opinions/posts' EVEN if you don't agree with them then it simply would cut most of the drama, not needed there is here

An internet forum is a Community of sorts. When the balance of that community is continually challenged to the detriment of everyone's enjoyment - than it is acceptable for the Moderator (or site owner) to step in and operate in the best interest of his/her site. I think this is what some people do not seem to understand. Reading/Posting on a forum is not a democracy. We are all here because we enjoy both the Knicks and the environment on this site. All are entitled to stay or leave freely. Some however feel that it is their god given right to do or say anything they want on such a forum. When what they say is either so acutely out of line.....or so chronically out of line.....it is up to the mod to keep the balance in check.

In this case - if you say the same basic things over and over and over again ..... so much so that even the casual poster notices ....it is a chronic problem.

it is funny you say that.. tell me what I have said that is so chronically out of line or acutely out of line?

And you are right it is not a democracy.. so why mention the balance of the community being challenged?.. what should really only matter is what the site owner or mod says right?

Some however feel that it is their god given right to do or say anything they want on such a forum.

really? most sites have a code of conduct.. if I haven't violated them.. what is the problem.... your statement is not true..

I have been a mod for many years, I understand, well understand the TOS or code of conduct however it is termed.... if you stay within those boundaries, the site, NOT GOD..... but the site owners are pretty much telling you, that you are free to express your opinion... I usually only talk basket ball, I don't participate in many other threads non-basketball related, I don't post pictures in the alba thread( not that there is anything at all wrong with it, although I enjoy looking at the pics).. so again, you are so far off base with this "saying anything they want" it is hilarious..

Wait, were you a mod before, I think you better say it another time just to be sure?

Anyway, why continue repeating yourself over and over again about Melo, the poor front office decisions, and how the Knicks suck when you know that these same talking points have consistently fallen on deaf ears or been met with animosity in the past? You know that the stuff you're saying will only stir the pot as it has 1000 times before, so why even put in the effort? Seems like a waste of your time. When it gets to the point where your comments are only aggravating posters and inhibiting basketball discussion then why keep going- everyone else gets annoyed, and you yourself get upset when people call you a troll as a result. Quite a lot of work for such an unsatisfying payback.

Apparently Memphis is looking at signing Udrih or Mo Williams. I am a bit tired of waiting and either want Udrih or Brown at this point.
BRIGGS @ 8/4/2013 10:25 PM
We can sell Udrih on a big role--JR Smith wont be here--so he can start as 6th man and then move into a rotating 3 PG alignment.
callmened @ 8/4/2013 11:00 PM
BRIGGS..what do you think about Udrih? I'm not sure if I saw your input

Still not sold on Brown. Have to admit I'm not too familiar with him, but am not left impressed by the footage I've seen. Hoping Memphis makes a play for Mo and Udrih settles for a 1 year vet min contract. Otherwise I'd be content with Murry getting the slot.

There are three guys that post relentlessly about the disaffection with the Knicks. One hasn't been around here for quite awhile. Another seems to be warned daily about his attempts to be just provocative and the other came here after he was kicked off of another knick forum. I think we might be at a point here where one could say, and then there were two.

Martin and Andrew don't follow up on or miss some stuff. A great example was when you posted this nonsense.
he is not genetically gifted the way that jordan, garnett, payton, miner etc. were but all that means is that he should be working much harder to achieve that level. if he did he would have the quickness necessary to play on both sides of the ball at the small forward position. people like to tout that he is a matchup nightmare on offense but he remains a liability on defense and this will dog him. people like to say that he needs to conserve energy but i call bull**** on that. he's part puerto rican, right? i played football, baseball, and basketball with plenty of borinquenos in my day in new york. most of them had conditioning issues in spite of their athletic skills. native new yorkers know exactly what i am talking about. in baseball you can get away with it but not basketball

Quite a lot of work for such an unsatisfying payback.

sorry but you don't get to author history-- there has been a noticeable increase in disaffection with the knicks and we are seeing a measurable uptick in the number of posts to that effect. the scales are falling from the eyes of many knick fans. windows closing, 2015, opting out, 25 million extension, and what not.

people with know-how and prescience are often rewarded with scorn.

No, people with know-how and prescience are lauded for their knowledge. Whining and moaning like a teenage girl who got dumped before prom is not foresight. Anyway this thread is supposed to be about udrih, so that's all I'll say.

"whining and moaning like a teenage girl." love the cassandra angle-- nice. it still illustrates my point perfectly.

and you actually just said a great deal-- maybe more than you wanted, regretfully-- and i think this will be a timely test for martin and andrew if not mistaken. i look forward to their take. seems like a few nerves are fraying.

I would like to know dk, why post like that never get modded or warned? i look forward to their take as well..

All we need now is a 3G4G +1 and the thread will be complete.

And some folks think no one posts racial stuff on here...yikes indeed.

Crush, how the heck did you dig up stuff like that?

Care to point me out which one? I missed most of this thread but as a proud puertorican I want to know.

It is in a thread from about a month ago. The worst thing was dk kept saying if I played ball in NYC I would know what he was talking about.
