Knicks · Harrington to the knicks? (page 1)

NYY1NYK2 @ 8/2/2013 3:32 PM
Harrington was just waived, would you guys give him another shot for the minimum?
gunsnewing @ 8/2/2013 3:36 PM
Sure we can always use another combo forward
NYKBocker @ 8/2/2013 3:37 PM
Othella?

lol, AL

Bonn1997 @ 8/2/2013 4:04 PM
We could use some more volume scorers who suck at all other phases of the game
STATMELO @ 8/2/2013 4:07 PM
Sure if he's healthy he's definitely productive
I'd be satisfied with this roster.
C Tyson Chandler
F Carmelo Anthony
F Metta World Peace
G Iman Shumpert
G Ray Felton
Bench: JR Smith, Amar'e Stoudemire, Andrea Bargnani, Al Harrington, Kenyon Martin, Ivan Johnson, Pablo Prigioni, Tim Hardaway, Jr.
smackeddog @ 8/2/2013 4:37 PM
Only for cover when Melo is injured, but he'd be unusable at all other times.

Harrington really wanted to be a Knick, so I'm not going to mock him. I remember that string of games he had with us when he was going for over 30points per game and looking like a star. Problem is, as Don Nelson once said, he always thought he was a star- problem was he wasn't, he only looked a bit like one during a rare hot spell.

Seemed a nice enough guy though.

ramtour420 @ 8/2/2013 4:39 PM
Al NoSharrington ! Lets not forget that he was the best at hanging on the rim. We need playmaking and rebounding, he brings neither. I actually liked him when MDA was running things, but now i doubt Woody would play him much.
EnySpree @ 8/2/2013 4:51 PM
Yeah i can't say anything bad abut dude. I know it hurt not to be apart of the team anymore. If it made sense I'd take him back

To be fair, he got screwed that second time when he got whistled for allegedly hanging on the ring- I've seen players hang on way longer than that and not get called!

It's true, but I think it happened the very next game after the 1st time. Or maybe the game after.
markvmc @ 8/2/2013 11:33 PM
Not consecutive games. Just twice against the same team.

Oh, and as far as the OP's question goes: "Please Jesus, for the love of God, No."

IronWillGiroud @ 8/3/2013 1:25 AM
would be so happy with a harrington reunion tour, it is good fitting,

he dropped buckets for us under mda and you gotta love his ability to go off for 10-15 points at this point in his career,

it used to be 20-35 but now 10-15 you can use that when you're on a dry run in the second round and he comes in, catches fire because you've been conserving him all year

tj23 @ 8/3/2013 2:57 AM
Ugh We're really fishing for scraps, huh? I didn't want him 5 years ago, and I certainly don't want him now. Streak shooter who won't rebound or defend. Not even worth a roster spot. Pass.
VCoug @ 8/3/2013 9:26 AM
Didn't we sign enough washed up forwards when we got World Peace? And any role Harrington has is already filled by Melo and Bargnani. I'd rather our last 3 spots go to a big man, PG, and a consistent 3-point shooter regardless of position.

+1, although MWP is more than just a washed up forward

Finestrg @ 8/3/2013 11:25 AM
There was a time not too long ago that I would've been in favor of this. Past his prime now though and I think we might have enough scoring.. I'd much prefer Ivan Johnson.

Won't rebound? Harrington as a starter was good for 6-7 rebounds a game.
Dagger @ 8/4/2013 2:04 AM
You can tell by the aerodynamic indentations on the sides of his head that Al Buckets was built for speed. Please let's take him back, we're all anxiously awaiting the release of his newest protege line of sneakers

That's significantly below average for a PF/C

Somebody tell that to A'mare...

Btw, we had him in the knicks. So ww know he's a pf/sf so 6-7 rebs is about right.
