Riley is dancing because all they want in Miami is for somebody big to guard the rim and alter shots to send them on their fast break onslaught. He can probably can score inside, whether it is put backs or post up and dunks.
No need to hate the kid, his dad lives around my way his mom moved to Indianapolis as a kid.

How long has he been in the league? What exactly has he done? Oh yeah - he has been injured most of the time and sat out for substance abuse issues. I wish him the best but he is not going to come back and suddenly start dropping all star numbers. Sure big men take time to develop but its not like he has a lot of playing time and experience under his belt.
I see why they signed him because there is supposed upside and if he is a bust he doesn't really hurt, but guys like Oden don't belong in the NBA. Perhaps if he proved himself in the D-league or something I could see it but not with his current track record.
He'a bust because of his injury history not because he doesn't have the talent. In his, very short, career 9pts, 7reb, and 1.4 blocks while shooting 57% from the field playing only 22 mpg. For a team that isn't paying him much and has gone to the Finals 3 years in a row winning twice without him he's a great risk.
So you spend the money just cause you have it to spend? I will go on record stating Eddy Curry would have a better Heat career than OLDen!
They're going to spend that money anyway, it's all about maximizing their return. Who out there has the potential of Oden and is available for the minimum?
I believe KMart was the first guy to make it back and play after having micro fracture surgery on both knees. Oden has had two micro fracture surgeries on one knee and one micro fracture surgery on his other knee. I believe he also had trouble with his knee cap and may have needed surgery for that as well. Has he had another surgery since his third micro in 2010?
I wish he wasn't on the Heat but it would be great for him if he could play with reasonable health for several years. The guy was supposed to be the best big of his generation.

No hate at all! I live in Indy I saw him and Mike Conley JR play in high school! I wanted them to beat FL in the Tournament finals. And I despise OSU! I was just being realistic about his chances of success at present!

If this kid is playing healthy come playoff time, realistically this team (Heat) is unbeatable if everyone stays healthy.

Is there any footage of him playing/practicing? It would be great if he could make it back. Wish it was for another team. KMart had microfracture on both knees and seems to be doing pretty well post surgery.
