I agree with BRIGGS. Ive always been a fan of beasley. Yeah hes a knuckle head but id rather hv him over cj or hadaddi
Apparently Phoenix was very invested in making things work with Beasley and even hired a life coach for him. It never hurts to take a chance on talent for your 15th spot but he may not be fixable or may not have gotten to a point where he recognizes he needs to change. I wonder if he would agree to just a camp invite. The 15th spot or Leslie or Tyler's spot on the roster certainly could be in play for him.

Beasley could be this years Blatche, but I'm not really sure how he'd fit in at this point. We need defense and rebounding.
He was released an hour ago.
I could honestly see him going back to Miami, they didnt really want to let him go.
This reminds me a bit of Josh Hamilton--he made it back.
Beasley is actually 6-8.25. He's a true mystery. He's got loads of talent but just hasn't caught on. The only issue I could see is him being unhappy with a limited role. He was down to 20 mpg last year and i'd imagine he'd get less here. Maybe just being in a winning situation would be enough to make him put up with a reduced role. I still wouldn't mind adding a guy like Haddadi, but if they picked up Beasley I could see it as taking a flier on a guy with some talent.

Read that Beas kills you away from the ball. WOn't make sharp cuts, misses defense and uneven energy.
This is the pro's, lots of guys with talent but its the small things that get you over the top.

It would take dedication of changing his lifestyle. Discontinue smoking pot and start working out hard on his body and game while eating the right way. Even at 24 your body can take irrevocable damage from drug use and poor long term eating habits. Can this man save his career thats the question. He has enough money--hes made atleast 33mm $$$ in his short time not including any endorsements where he can say Ill buy a nice home and Ill smoke dope--I dont need to do anything else--hes got the ability to do it as long as he has been even partially responsible with his cash. To hang it up and give up on yourself--give it to a drug at that age--well that would be a shame.

I know there could be potential problems & disappointment but on a vet minimum deal, I'd take a chance on that talent. He probably fails again but you never know -- people sometimes surprise you. Gotta grow up sooner than later. This guy's overall talent level is still very high. Couldn't do any better for a 15th man, even with the character baggage.
Too bad we didn't go after Luke Babbitt. That kid has a lot of talent at the SF position, much more than CJ Leslie. On his way to Russia where the plan is to play him big minutes...He'll dominate over there and resurface soon. The potential's there for much more than a 3-pt specialist...Can't believe no one offered that kid an NBA deal.

Right? One a vet min. deal?? If he blows up, cut him. No harm, no foul. Classic low risk/high reward scenario here..If he succeeds (even semi-succeeds), we're geniuses.. If he gets locked up for weed and gets suspended -- oh well. We still did the right thing because he's young, still has a load of talent and the price tag is right...I hate to say "it's only weed" but we definitely could be talking about much worse character issues here, no question. Latrell Sprewell choked out PJ Carlesimo and went after him with a 2x4...We traded one of our most popular players to get that guy and you know what -- GREAT move. Spree was awesome and we went to the Finals with him....Anyone remember Robert Parish getting busted for weed in his suitcase? It was at the airport I believe, right? One of the best, most consistent NBA centers I've ever seen play the game...Meanwhile, NBA players break down, sometimes quite a few key players at the same time -- suppose Melo AND Bargnani ever broke down where both were lost for an extended period -- then where would we be? Deep teams could be made to look thin awful quick. It'd be nice to have quality depth to fall back on in the event that we had to weather a big storm.

some nba players make a career based on potential until they are 35 years old and on their 5th contract when people realize they suck...

Not sure what to think of Bease. He had a really good year in minny and then was injured a lot his next year. Things certainly didn't go well in Phoenix. There were some highlights of him playing summer ball (drew league?) and he looked to be in good shape. For a vet mini I think he is worth giving a shot.
yea, for the record i'm a huge fan of bease,
he just gives off that stoner vibe and guys like that, they're serious about that life,
it would take a lot for a guy like that to give up weed and focus on becoming an all-star
