Kay asked the Jamaican-born Ewing his favorite food (curried goat), music (Bob Marley) and the greatest player he ever faced (Jordan). He then asked who Ewing would choose to have as his partner in the proverbial foxhole.John Starks.
"He's crazy, he's emotional," said Ewing. "But he's got my back."
This was on ONstage with Michael Kay but also made it into an espn story.
http://sports.espn.go.com/new-...ews/sto...I think current guys that you put on that list for the Knicks are KMart, Felton, and Metta. Not sure if there are any other guys I would put in that category.

I was watching msg earlier and it was jvg's first season. The game they had on was when the Knicks beat the bulls in game 3 of the playoffs in ot. It was such a battle it reminded me of Ew's interview with Michael Kay. I was wondering who guys thought on this team goes balls out and does anything to win.
I wonder if Oakley got upset with that response.
current foxhole guys?
yea, Artest and Melo. That is it.

He shouldnt be Starks was Ewings second best teammate.
Ewing has always had alot of mutual respect for Starks mainly due to his competitive nature.
this was a quote from the Post, i think from last year.....
The 11-time All-Star was asked who was the best player he ever played alongside with and Ewing replied," Second best teammate? John Starks, Allan [Houston], Spree [Latrell Spreewell], Oak [Charles Oakley]. But they're not Carmelo"
but i guess for the topic of discussion....
If Melo is Ewing then his foxhole guy probably is JR...since he was the one who immediately followed him here at first chance.
Artest would scare me in a foxhole. Plus he is not good enough. Wouldn't want Melo Tyson, bargnani and Amare with me either. No one on this present team
Shumpert is I was to pick one

What is the definition of a foxhole guy? If it means he has your back at all times then I have to say artest. Did you guys remember when he protected Yao when they were teammates?
On no I'm looking guys who will dominate and help me witness my first championship. So really no one
Maybe if we could swing a trade for KG....
Shumpert has the potential to be that guy. I don't see anyone else on the team currently that can fit that role.

I had the exact same thought. I expected him to name the Oak Tree.

and he'd sit in the foxhole yelling expletives to the enemy but, once the fighting begins, give me that real crazy mofo (artest) that I will have to stop from killing every mofo that doesn't look like me instead of that guy that will run (Garnet) once the fighting starts.
been watching a lot of blacksploitation films lately and can't stop saying Mofo. Still trying to find out what an "ofay" is.

I think KMart's going to be the possible enforcer that Tyson hasn't turned out to be.
Heard Slow Motion by Juvenile today. Makes me wonder how or why the world keeps turning with that much stupidity in existence.

K-Mart was elected to this post when he said He'd handle KG if he pulled any crap. K-Mart said, "I got this." The next game against the Celtics Garnett was more reserved than I can remember him being in years.
man, I know every generation has their own thing that they vibe to but, the crap being cranked out by these labels is beyond awful.
Say what you want about the 80's and 90's raw, hardcore music, it was at least witty and the lyrical craftsmanship was very skillful. No, you don't even need to have a "good authoritative" voice or wit within the lyrics. The lyrics are so "elementary" and "primitive" displaying none of the growth you'd expect in the over 40years hip hop and rap has existed.
