Knicks · Knicks interested in Rip (page 1)

Sam Amico @SamAmicoFSO

Rockets, Knicks among teams that may have interest in veteran SG Richard Hamilton, NBA sources say. Hamilton likely looking at vet minimum $

Makes me wonder how JR is doing with his recovery.

yeah....it does. however, we need a mid range shooter and rip is still one of the best. however, he has been injury prone and on this team we dont need more injury prone guys.

He's toast. Get Haddadi

Yea its not like we need a capable big bodied backup center. We have Bill Russell in Tyson Chandler. Hibbert what??

BRIGGS @ 9/3/2013 8:56 PM
Rip can still give you 10-2-2 45% in 20+ minutes with JR down it might be a smart way to start the season. We have flexibility and we have to think we can use Jeremy Tyler--I do. That gives us 3 centers and 3 PFs if you add in anthony.
Finestrg @ 9/3/2013 8:57 PM
I think Rip's done, man. They go out of their way to draft THJ when we had a choice of about 4-5 good SGs to draft instead. If JR Smith is gonna take longer than originally expected, show some conviction in the pick and play Hardaway right away. I mean, why make that pick otherwise? With a 100% Iman Shumpert, THJ, Udrih, we could go real big and play Melo at the 2 some, Woody's willingness to play 2 PGs at the same time, etc., we have enough at the 2 for the time being. There are better options to finalize this roster with than a way over-the-hill Rip Hamilton, no? I dunno -- then again I betcha he can still run off screens and pop away from mid-range like always. Not an automatic "No"; I'd have to really consider it, but at the end of the day, I'd pass.

Tell ya what -- if they wanna make a real shrewd move for a 2G with upside -- I'd scoop up 6'8" DeQuan Jones. I think this dude is a classic late bloomer. Ever-growing talent level is already pretty high and the potential's through the stratosphere if you ask me. Never really did much in college despite the ability, went undrafted but man, I saw this guy a couple of times for the Magic last year -- he played like he belongs. He's huge and strong for a 2, he can handle it surprisingly well, the shooting mechanics look surprisingly solid, he gives good effort defensively, and he's already one of the most athletic players on the planet....Excellent first step and a superb finisher. Plus you can throw in some pretty decent one-on-one skills....Has a chance to be a real energizer for some team. The Garden fans would LOVE this guy. At 6'8" 220 with that combination of strength and quickness, he can play 2 positions and be a good guy we could throw on the LeBrons, the Pierces, the Joe Johnsons, etc. I guarantee you they wouldn't enjoy facing this guy. This dude has the chance to be something special. Already I see a bigger version of Gerald Wilkins and I think his ceiling is much higher than that. I'd rather have DeQuan Jones than CJ Leslie, I can tell you that. Better player. The evidence isn't there to support it -- has never gotten a lot of PT for some odd reason, even in college. As such, his numbers going back to college are underwhelming. Still, my gut & my eyes tell me different.. I think there's something here. I'd take a chance. I bet this guy breaks out eventually and becomes something.

Sounds like he is a hard worker and well liked. Wouldn't mind him on the team.

I guess late first round picks aren't always franchise fortune changers.

Something tells me our season is not going to depend on Haddadi. I would rather sign Earl Baron anyway. I don't care how Baron played on other teams. He has always played exceptionally with us.

why do you have such a boner for haddadi? dude has been in the league for 6 years and hasnt shown a whole lot. theres a reason a 28yo/7ft big man is available and hasn't been picked up yet, ya know?

yellowboy90 @ 9/4/2013 12:53 PM
why do people overreact to this stuff?
