Well I'm looking at Derrick Williams' advanced stats. I don't want a slightly better player - I want a much, much better player. Or just wait until a better offer comes along.

The better players will come in 2015 with cap space. Melo signing for $29mil won't allow the Knicks to build a contender

I don't think you get much better... I am looking at the possibility of not having carmelo's albatross 25 mil salary on the books for a one trick pony.... And honestly, I would showcase the hell out of Derrick williams, the kid if given the shots and playing time can put up 15-18ppg, I have seen him, he is pretty athletic with a good scoring mentality... hopefully some other team bites and you can start accumulating picks and other assets you so desire... it is going to take a series of moves to get this ship right... but I say start right now!

Melo looks pretty skinny on the media day coverage- not sure I like him playing at PF at that weight.

Yea, I don't know much about Derrick williams, he seems very athletic, and capable of being a pretty good scorer.. if he can actually play some good defense then pretty much that is all you would need from that SF spot... the picks would be great as well... it gives you options for sure..
Not sure what most would consider equal value for carmelo as I think he is vastly overrated by most... and we all know we are not getting the type of package we gave up to get him..
Yeah this group looks worse and worse every year in terms of value.

It'll be interesting to see how the Thunder do with just Durant, and how Durant does with no other big scoring threats- Westbrook just had another knee surgery and will miss the first 4-6 weeks of the season.

Oh well those comparisons are ridiculous. I assume Durant will play like he did in the post-season when Westbrook went down (maybe 30/9/7) and he'll carry the team as far as anyone other than Lebron could.
