Knicks · Good news for League Pass!!! (page 1)

Erniecat @ 9/12/2013 8:37 PM
Anyone out there who relies on League Pass to watch the games will be very happy to hear that they finally are offering a Premium package that will include some nice bells and whistles -- most notably the choice of home or away announcers, which to me is huge. MLB offers that, and it really is nice to be able to always get your home team's broadcast. It also says they will offer studio shows, though it's not clear what exactly what will be available.

Here is the email that was sent to past subscribers:

The NBA season is starting soon, and NBA LEAGUE PASS is back to bring you all the action from EVERY NBA game this season - including All-Star, Playoffs and the Finals - live and on-demand, on your computer, mobile, tablet and connected devices.

The 2013-14 season brings some new, exciting NBA LEAGUE PASS features! We listened to your survey responses and have made several changes this season, including the introduction of NBA LEAGUE PASS Premium.

New features include:

NBA TV Live subscription*, which brings top highlights and exclusive access to NBA events and press conference
Home and away announcers* available

Nice!

I love the announcer option. Some of those away announcers are HORRIBLE. So clueless.

knicks1248 @ 9/12/2013 11:58 PM
directv already had that option, it's the local cable companies that make you suffer they turn it off as soon as the clock reads 00, noo post game or anything

Yup. Though one road guy who stands out is Leo Rautins, who does color for Raptors. He's excellent.

Yeah, I hate it when I put on the game and find out I'm stuck with the other team's crew -- especially when the game is at the Garden. I NEED my Clyde fix for all games, but especially the home games!!!

And while I'm not a big "pregame show" guy, there is nothing like sitting back and watching the postgame show after a nice win, so hopefully we can get that this year.

I'm excited about the changes- especially the archived games and the choice of announcers. However, some of the other teams announcers are so horrifically bad, it sometimes amuses me to listen to them!

I agree. Sometimes the away announcers are such homers it is pretty funny. I Like being able to watch MSG coverage for the entire season.

I hate when I have to be subject to the other teams announcers. Some are much worse than others. If I will not have to be subject to those guys in Boston then that alone makes it worth it.

I'd like to see them offer games in Europe on a game by game basis. With the time difference, it just makes no sense to buy a subscription when you can realistically only watch live games on Saturday or Sunday (afternoon games). IF you are a big fan, yeah, it is nice to see the occasional game. But I am not going to pay the kind of money they are asking for to only watch the occasional game. Listen to the customer...

Offer games on a game by game basis (at least in Europe)...

Are the archived games already available if you buy the league pass now_ {thats meant to be a question mark, by the way- Im travelling around spain at the moment and the keyboard symbols are all different!}. I wouldnt mind watching some of the games after linsanity, but before he went down with an injury, to see whether he could have fitted with Melo.

You can watch all the games live or on demand. Due to a serious time difference, I almost never watch the Knick games live. On demand rocks -- you can get through a game in less than 2 hours by fast-forwarding through commercial breaks. And you can watch it at a time that is totally convenient. Of course, you need to not find out the score, but I have that down to a science.

It says the archived games will become available on Sept. 26.

The biggest homers in any sport: White Sox announcers.

Kenny "Hawk" Harrelson and some other nut.

Everything is "we" and "us."

And when a White Sox player hits a HR, they -- in unison -- go into this song.

I mean, it is SO over the top that it's actually hilarious.
