Knicks · Shumpert and Hardaway JR (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 9/30/2013 2:13 PM
Those two guys are keys into improving our 30th ranked transition game. Love to throw Leslie's name in there but he did not look explosive in the SL did not run the court well and while I anticipated his need to learn 3 skills I didnt know he was that far off. But if he can learn on the fly in the D league and we get a healthy Tyler back--we have fresh fast legs that will help enhance our starting rotation guys and if we experience injury concern like last season. But to start the season a healthy Shumpert and Hdjr will help this team on the break with speed and athletic ability that we really did not have last year with the exception of JR.
GustavBahler @ 9/30/2013 2:44 PM
Leslie was coming off hip surgery I believe, so that may have something to do with it. He had his moments in SL, but I that agree CJ is a bit further off from contributing than THJ.
gunsnewing @ 9/30/2013 3:17 PM
Shumpert will be traded for a castoff of the monte Ellis/Brandon Jennings mold. THJ I don't know
EnySpree @ 9/30/2013 3:52 PM
Woodson wants to post and find the open man... he wants to iso.

We have the legs now with even the addition of artest. We have the personnel to play any way we want.

Can't wait fir training camp.

As far as castoffs, the Knicks have enough players to pick up a better player that's hanging in the wind. Dunno who that might be at the moment but don't be surprised. Mills is here for a reason

JesseDark @ 9/30/2013 3:56 PM
I wouldn't say it's just those two guys, it's whoever is playing point as well. The point guard has to ne able stay in front of his man defensiely otherwise it breaks down.

jesus man, you don't quit with the nonsense, do you?

This fan base has some really jaded and craven people mixed in. We have such good young talent in Shump and THJ. People hate on THJ but this kid does in fact have talent. I think he was actually held back in college to a degree.
The two of them will really pump up the SG spot for this team going forward.

CJ Leslie wasn't really at his best in SL, but I wouldn't let that be the final word on this kid. I'm hoping we can find a way to bring in Murry. I just think he's got a chance to be a good young player.

I have no faith in this team until they prove me wrong

OK. In the meantime, why do you post more nonsense than what comes out of the organization? It's like you are mirroring the team that you don't have faith in.

gunsnewing @ 9/30/2013 5:38 PM
You don't think there's a chance Shumpert is trade at or before the deadline? Especially with mills on bored and Dolan not happy with Shumpert?

I knew he was coming off an injury. Hip injuries suck. Glad that the Knicks have been patient with him.

If he does get traded all i can ask for is a improvement with the player recieved.

i like Shumpert but I know there are alot of players that are better.

gunsnewing @ 9/30/2013 6:30 PM
Better is one thing. Usually teams trade malcontents and the Knicks take it hook line and sinker. We should not trade him period
gunsnewing @ 9/30/2013 6:35 PM
Honestly when was the last time the Knicks made a good trade Sprewell and Camby? Ernie Grunfeld

I hope they dont trade shumpert. he was one of our better players in the playoffs. he seems to be 100% now after the ACL injury.

Both of those guys were recently acquired by new teams and are centerpieces of their teams. Brandon Jennings is the starting point guard of the Pistons and they are certainly not trading him for a SG with lackluster ball-handling skills and playmaking ability. The Mavs went through a whole lot of trouble to get Monta Ellis to be their new "star" and they're not throwing away all that time and energy to immediately turn around and trade him for Shumpert. Just because you think two inefficient players fit nicely into your doom and gloom prediction does not make those players viable options. Neither Ellis or Jennings is going anywhere in exchange for Shunpert, so please cut it out.

Papabear Says

I like Shrump. I think he is a high energy player but the same way he worked on hitting his 3s he needs to work on driving to the basket making layups. He is lacking the skill of putting the right kind of english on the ball to make a lay up. When he masters that he just might be an allstar.

Nobody is ever 100% after an ACL injury and because of that, if the right deal came along, I would trade Shumpert in a heartbeat.

nixluva @ 9/30/2013 9:22 PM
This is the 1st time that Shump has had a chance to really work over the summer on his game. The way Shump played at times in the playoffs was really heartening for the future. There's really no sense to any trade unless it's for a player that is going to be sure to make an impact. The Rondo type of trade. Other than that you really don't need to even bring it up.

I also think THJ is gonna be a positive off the bench. We had to endure Brewer and White last year and JR when he was off his game and this year we have a kid that is perfectly suited to the task at SG. I really like this team no matter what the naysayers cackle about. It's a good mix of vet and youth talent. I think Shump and THJ will have an impact this year and it should really be fun to watch these guys develop.

callmened @ 9/30/2013 9:30 PM
I think beno is more key to the fast break than those two. A pg to push the pace

Actually you don't need a fast PG to run a fast break. It's more important that the wings can get out ahead and the PG can make the pass accurately. It's great if you have a fast PG but it's not absolutely necessary that he be a burner. Beno and Felton should be able to push the ball if needed, but also any of these guards can push it as well. It's a good group of guards this year.
