NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams told reporters Friday he will not play in the team's preseason opener Tuesday night at Washington and likely will miss its next preseason game as well as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

Williams suffered a sprain and a bone bruise in his right ankle during an offseason workout in Utah. He has been limited during training camp.

Started as a new thread because I couldn't find the great thread Nalod started last year for other games and nba news. If someone finds it please reply so that it is back on the first forum page. It would be a great thread to sticky.

He had the ankle injury last year. We expected the injury to affect his play but he played and the Nyets were with there with 49wins. Now they added KG, pierce, Livingston, terry. Ak47 and Anderson. They Are deeper

Yeah, he's got bad ankles. He gets cortisone shots all the time. He'll probably have bad ankles for the rest of his career.

dwill ankles? no problem, guy will still come in and ball. plus they are now so solid all over the place, the load on the ankle will be even less!!!

Not quite as bad as Steph Currys- I don't even enjoy watching him play because I'm always worried he's going to roll over his ankle or something.
