Knicks · Can Grunwald still be exec of the year???? (page 1)
Nalod@ 10/8/2013 7:41 AM
even after his demotion?
You get a serious run and Bargnani plays to his potential as a no. 1 pick does the architect of the roster (grunwald) who would still be employed even though demoted, be considered for exec of the year?

That would be the ultimate payback to Dolan.
blkexec@ 10/8/2013 9:44 AM
I hope so....I would give it to him just to rub it in Dolans incompetent face. That demotion caught everybody by surprise.....Even the haters!!!!

Billy King is executive of th year unfortunately
Nalod@ 10/8/2013 10:45 AM
Exec of the year goes to a huge turn around or top first or second during the regular season.
Early favorites would have to be Billy King and Mr. Morey in Houstan who landed Dwight without having to give up an asset. If Miami or Spurs finish at or near the top wit 60+ wins Riles and RC have to contend. Same for Indy. Gar Forman in chicgo is too dispised by even his head coach.

Not when Garnett (37 yrs old) and Pierce (36 yrs old) and Jason Terry (36 yrs old)and MArco Jaric (35 yrs) all start to break down.

When complimentary to Bropez-Dwil-JJ and add AK47, KG, Pierce, etc, the prospects are very interesting. KG enhances Blatch who can start for many teams. Pierce can supliment JJ. KG and Kidd have enough cred to drive the team into accountability and greater intensity.
They are deep and can rest players who need time to recover from injury. They don't have to ride anyone as we have with melo at times. This has been knicks problem come playoff time.
This makes it very interesting.
If Pierce and KG were counted on to lead the team I'd have to agree that would not work.
Knicks are deeper and also built for a playoff run if they can be healthy at seasons end. No different than any other team!

Why single out the Knicks on being healthy? The Nets are older.
The Nets do have a very good and very deep team, similar to the Knicks in that respect. I look forward to their games. And while I root for most NY teams, and I used to root for the Nets when they had Dr J, I just can't stand Garnett (dirty player) and Pierce (Prima Donna) and therefore can't feel even a little affinity to the Nets. Perhaps when Pierce and Garnett are gone.
Here's a real good highlight of what I wish for Paul Pierce.

Artest is old and Amare is 100 in basketball years

Artest is 33. He played over 30 minutes a game last year. I wouldn't worry about his age nearly as much as I would if he were 36, 37 etc. like the old guys in Boston. Amare most likely is done. I think you have to hope he can have a couple of years like Dyess did where he doesn't do any basketball workouts in the offseason.
CrushAlot@ 10/8/2013 8:14 PM
I thought he deserved it last year and I thought he did a better job this past offseason. It would be great if he was given the award.
anrst@ 10/8/2013 8:43 PM
no, b/c mills will be sure to make big moves during the season for the sake of putting his own stamp on the team.

hoping and wishing.... i believe johnson and pierce are teammates now. are you thinking someone on the knicks is going to school pierce? on another note: who do you believe is going to end having the better year, brooklyn or the knicks?

Why single out the Knicks????
Cuz we had a great season last year and our age showed come playoff time. Kidd was needed and went oh-Fer!!!
The very nature of Grunny being "exec of the year" implies a very good season for the knicks. I singled them out as this is a Knick thread. I bought up the Nets because the hype of "KG and Pierce" being major cogs is over done, they don't need to play those guys like the celtics needed to. Or the KNicks needed Kidd. If Kidd played in the last month like the first month we beat Indy.
