many times? I think not, can you provide data to support that. Not sure why melo is being single out when I stated a jump shooting "team" though.
Do I have data to show how many times he drove to the basket? Really dude? Really? *Facepalm*
You could start right here.....

That would show the basics of how many totals shot he attempted at the rim, although like I originally posted the team overall is a jump shooting team.
And if scroll down guess what...it shows driving layups.![]()
there is almost data to prove or disprove just about anything said....

Jump shooting center would have changed that series outcome.

MJ never had to deal with not getting calls or having the refs against him. It seems like all of the refs hate Melo.
If Playa can find a youtube for a subject that suits his agenda, its all the proof he needs.

But, why would I look that up? I saw with my own eyes him consistently drive to the rim and get pounded on.....I never said there wasn't a stat for it, it's just a silly thing to look up. Looking at those numbers I think it's very clear he had a ton off attempts at the rim. I won't argue we were a jump shooting team, but the free throw difference was nuts.

He didnt even consistently drive to the rim, so those handful of instances really dont matter.
He gets his fair share, just like another other jumpshooter.

He gets to the free throw line a lot because of his style of play and they do miss a lot of calls, but it stands out that a player of his stature gets a lot of missed calls.

it's noticed by fans of the team, no different than even lebron, and he certainly isnt "hated" by the refs either.
every fan base says the same thing.

Papabear Says
YOu know I just don't get it!! Either you are blind or you are just another one who really don't care for the best player on our team. One thing you better worry about and that is this --If Melo leaves the Knicks we with be a lottery team. And please don't tell me we can sign a star because we can't LeBron ain't coming to New York and Durant signed a long term contract with his team. The rest of the players like Paul George and other so called star players are resigning with thier teams. So what do we do??? We have no draft picks. Since you are so down of Melo tell me of one star player who talks about coming to New York? There are none. Our only hope of getting another star will be Melo staying here in NY. And because of Melo we just might be able to pull someone. Basketball stars know that in today NBA you will need 2 or 3 stars to have a chance to win a championship. So the next time you want to bash the best player on our team no matter what his faults are just imagine him gone.

For the most extreme example of this, watch that Thunder game from last year where the refs refused to call ANY foul for Melo, while calling everything for Durant. In the end they reluctantly called a foul because the Thunder were purposely trying to stop the clock, but even then they had to foul him 3 times...

Metrics are making this game as boring as humanly possible- they're just someones opinion disguised as scientific fact. People can post what they see and their opinions- the old eye test and personal judgement are just as valid as advanced stats.

dude Melo should've had so many more calls last year it's laughable. yeah he's one of the leaders in free throw attempts, that's what happens when you're the team's #1 scoring option and NBA scoring champ and you drive to the rim a lot, it doesn't however take away from the fact that he's been getting banged up constantly left and right, and there were plenty, and I mean plenty of times when he should've gone to the line but the refs chose to ignore that, even when his own headband made it extremely obvious he was fouled.
compare that to the calls James and Durant were getting and you'll see my point.

also compare how durant and james treat the refs,
melo is terrible with them, he doesn't get it, he doesn't play the refs the right way,
of course he will not be popular if he is a dickhead

ah, I remember that. Durant shot around 14-15 free throws that game, some of which were laughable calls, while Melo had his 1st and 2nd free throw attempts with less than 30 seconds to play after being intentionaly fouled atleast a couple of times.
I was watching that game live, and remember being incredibily pissed off.
And then I also remembered some of the stuff I've read about the refs taking the piss out of this game at times, playing games with eachother to see who pays up by being the first to call a foul on a certain player (example Iverson years back), and I just couldn't help but think we were watching that game unfold before our very eyes.

I'm pretty sure if you'd switch out the refs' treatment of James and Melo for example, you'd see Melo being more "melo" about it and James getting pissed off a bit more often.

but we're dealing with human beings,
for whatever reason, melo does not handle the refs as well as james and durant do,
