So, according to the tweets on the open practice today:

Bargs: out due to his back stiffening
Felton: out with hamstring
Shump: out with elbow
Prigs: was back then left after colliding with another player and hurting his foot
Amar'e: maybe ready for regular season
JR: still recovering- doing some 3 on 3, maybe cleared for contact this week.
MWP- back in action
K-Mart: likely not be ready for regular season.
Tyler: broken foot

Yikes. So much for us having fewer injuries this season! Hopefully they're just being overly cautious...

IronWillGiroud @ 10/20/2013 1:15 PM

not really surprising. We kniw Amare and Bargs are very injury prone. Shumpert has also had injury problems as we know. Hopefully by the start of the season we can be close to 100%

The one that gets me is K-Mart, how long does an ankle take to heal?

couple of ideas come to mind:

1. it's possible some players refuse to do performance enhancing drugs

2. ankle injury might not exit, who knows with the knicks

i realize that, every time a person speculates, every time i speculate on situations,

you reveal a little bit about yourself and your history and personality,

so i'm gonna give a real effort at taking things at face value from now on.

kmart is old as fuck, we can't expect him to play 82 games at 35 minutes per game, this is just how it goes.

And you wonder why Melo is opting out.

I don't think we have 1 player that can accomplish this

If IronWillGiroud was a Knick, he could

he could, literally, carry the whole team on his back.. his squats are that BOSS

No sense in panicking until players miss regular season games. Woody said he's gonna be real careful this preseason with players being tired. He doesn't want to wear guys down. It seems if a player has any kind of pain he's gonna err on the side of caution.
Markji @ 10/20/2013 5:18 PM
It used to be that players who were 13 to 15 on the list were non-entities. Used for scrimmaging. Now I am glad we have such a deep team because I think everyone will see action.

After last year this team isn't taking any roster spot for granted. It's the right attitude to take with this team. Health is going to be an issue and so every player has to be able to contribute something.

knickscity @ 10/20/2013 6:44 PM
I honestly dont recall our core guys being banged up like this last year, and they honestly havent played much compare to other squads.

I agree.

Finestrg @ 10/20/2013 8:42 PM
I wonder of Bargnani gets held out tomorrow more because Woody doesn't want him getting booed to death and regressing (he played well last game, the best he's played so far---they probably only wanna build off that, not take a step backward) over him being really hurt. I betcha if this wasn't in Toronto, he would have a better chance of playing...Hey, either way, why risk it -- regression in front of a hostle crowd or a legit tweaked back..

I doubt it.

It seems like at least 1 time per year the Knicks always gets decimated by injures. It might just be coming earlier than we expected this year. This means we can not have wasted roster spots. CJ has to be cut and play on our D League team. Chris Smith must be cut and work at some fast food restaurant.

We had 3 PG's last season and we saw an injury to Felton kill our season. Kidd had to play a lot more minutes than he was used to and his effectiveness dipped harshly for the rest of the season. No matter how many PG's and SG's we have they always get depleted. So Murry is a must and the last spot can go to Ike or Powell.

Ha, you're forgetting this (created last year):

smackeddog @ 10/21/2013 2:27 PM
Now Prigs has the flu! Our starting backcourt for tonight is: Beno & Hardaway Jr. Should be another chance for Toure Murray, and also at least CDR and Leslie will get a shot to show something.
