Anthony was not made available to reporters after practice, but J.R. Smith said he sees the new practice challenge facing last season’s NBA leading scorer. It’s different than Anthony being guarded by Chris Copeland last season.

I posted this when we first were signing MettaWP and I think it is appropriate for this thread. MWP (Lakers) against Melo (Nuggets). MWP is mercilessly hounding Melo and putting his body on Melo the entire game. MWP will help Melo during practice but also MWP can still play very inspired defense when we play some other tough teams.

Metta can't teach shot selection. It has to come from Melo if he wants to be considered the top player you have got get more economical with the way to play basketball. Make the game easy for your teammates by using them, better shot selection make a conscious effort to shoot 50% or over every game. This is a must it has to happen it needs to happen. Melo has to look at his peers LeBron, Durant, and Wade. They shoot 50% if he doesn't do this he isn't getting the next level. Superstar level.

If he is going to shoot 30 times he should make a conscious effort to make 15 or more.

Melo ended up with 21 points on 7-21 FG, 5 rebs. The worst part though, is that a game like that doesn't seem that atypical for Melo

Now if Metta does this against the Lebrons, Durants and others it would free up Melo to perform at a higher level offensively. My major concern is Woody playing Metta too many minutes , like he did Kidd.

Footage from three ago does nothing for anyone. I also saw last year Melo lighting Metta up. Right now LeBron is at another stage in his career just what is METTA going to do with LeBron most likely not much as LeBron can dissect opponents with passing as well as scoring.
I will tell you what I like about that Clip Melo looking to pass something he is losing the art of.

Metta is a vet and knows how to play. He can still put it on someone/almost anyone. Stopping LeBron???Well no one has been able to stop LeBron.
I am looking forward to us playing the Nets. Metta vs AK47 should be a good battle. or even Metta and/orKMart to neutalize the dirty tricks of Garnett. I like having MWP and KMart on the Knicks.People know that you can't pull any crap on us. You did see the other threads showing Psycho T (Hansborough) backing down from an almost 34 yrs old MWP yesterday.

I really like what I've been reading about Metta pushing players in practice, Melo in particular. This squad definitely needs toughening up and I'm hoping that Tyson will be the main beneficiary. If Tyson can return to somewhere in the ballpark of his DPOY season, we will be in very good shape. I'm talking about Tyson's attitude more than anything.

Exactly Skeng, being in the right position is a important as being physical.Remember the NBA GAME IS 90% MENTAL and Ron Ron got that on about everyone. LOL
