as the back up C to keep them fresh. 41 games each--playing time 20-22 minutes.
Im trying to figure out rotations and in this scenario--you take away some roadblock in the lineup and get the most out of two players who have no chance at playing 80 games each. But 40 games at 20-22 a night--we can do that. On top of which is lessens the clutter.
I like Beno U a lot--but I like him as a SG who handles the ball rather than the true 1. I like Felton and Pablo to keep the TO's low. Beno is a guy Id like to see get 24-26 minutes as a combo 2G 2nd PG.
As with scenario 1 we can mix and match Bargs and Artest into the SL against the right match ups.
not a bad idea. i dont like the idea of KMart as a back up center (ex...indy series). but sliding him over to the 4 and using bargs at the 5 would work.
im a big time fan of beno (still trying to think of a good nickname). i just like the guy out there...i dont care where..PG or SG. but i think a point has to be made about getting prigoni out there as well. i almost forgot how pesty his defense is
Both have to be back ups but I can't take hearing the minute restrictions. They need to be available to pay at any time. If not then we need to put them both in a suit and let ike diogu play and whoever else.

I kinda feel the same way, Eny. Don't really wanna hear that stuff. Be ready to play -- when you're ready to play, get in there, give 100% and do whatever is required to help this team. I don't want these guys walking around on eggshells and I don't want Woody coaching them like that either.
Also see the flip side -- gotta be real about the situation. These guys have been through a lot, esp. STAT. Their bodies aren't what they once were. So yeah, be smart about it, give these guys a day here & there (they do it in baseball to keep guys fresh -- I understand there's double the amount of games, but still--that would work here too) but if either guy has it rolling on a given night, I don't want Woody to suddenly pull the plug after 20 mins. It's essential we take Diogu on this roster for his scoring AND rebounding/toughness. Not ready to hang Ike after that poor defensive play btw (or his baseline airball late
) -- he played well last night. Astonishing how people get fixated on one negative play and write a guy off...SMH. Ike Diogu is a keeper.
Wish we didn't bring in Aldrich -- something might be wrong with him. He might be hurt and withholding it in order to secure a job, who knows. All I know is this version of Cole Aldrich we have is a far cry from the Aldrich in college. Wish we would've taken a look at Hassan Whiteside or Marcus Cousin instead. Both of those guys are much better players..
Beno was VERY GOOD last night. Best I've seen outta him so far. Wish he had a tighter handle though -- tends to cough the ball up when pressured. Kinda surprised by that a little...4 TOs last night. Other than that, he's a good, heady player. MWP too -- we're lucky to have both of these guys for the price.
AMar'e should never be the backuo C. imo
We need Kmart more than 40 games, there were stretches last year where he was our best defender. I know he's old but our team isn't chock full of defensive guys, we need as much of him on the defensive end as we can get, especially when chandler catches the "flu".
I know that we need to preserve Amar'e and Kenyon, keeping them fresh for the playoffs, but these guys need to play. I can see missing a few games and not playing back to back games, but they need to play and gel together. We still need Melo and Amar'e to integrate their different style, as well as acclimate the new team mates to them. They really haven't had a training camp, and now we look to treat them as guest players. Use them, if they break, get their replacements.

The bottom line--if each of these players dont take a significantly modified schedule--I guarantee they will not make the whole season. I thought about this approach and it makes a lot of sense. Each player gets significant rest time between games and cuts their total workload in half. 40 games each--we never dont have a nice big on back to back we have them available more often by cutting down wear injuries and they should both make the whole season. If we dont take a smart approach take the examples of last year Rasheed J Kidd Kurt Thomas Amare for example. Having each of these players go 20 minutes every other game makes a ton of sense.
This will take care for itself.
They will play as much as they can.
Probbaly not much at all.
Exactly Amare is on borrowed time. He will be out for the year by the end of november
I wonder if we had cp3 or parker would ppl talk about their injuries like Amare
Folks that why I think j tyler is big for this team

Probably not. Their injuries aren't career ending and weren't forecasted by doctors prior to their happening.

Ideally, I'd like to keep Shump and Beno in the lineup together. Beno is strong enough to handle two guards and Shump is quick enough to stay with most point guards. If Murry sticks and comes along, we can throw him in the mix too. I'd like to keep K-Mart together with Amare and Metta on the court, with K-Mart and Metta compensating for Amare's defense in the front court.

That is the question with the team. We have the players--we have seen samples of what they can do. Right now what I see as the one big ? is who plays with who and do we have the right 5 out there with chemistry and synergy. We need to play longer quality stretches of defense and we have the numbers to do it. I think we can make an extra pass at times. Get the right rotations make sure evryone is invested on the D and finding the open man or taking the open/best shot--we'll be very good.
I don't mean to troll but reading everyone's opinion in the threads.... it proves we need a trade. Nothing drastic bit too win. Need a reliable option at the 4 spot. Bargs is fine but we need a rebounder to help Chandler. That to me is the missing puzzle piece right now.
To much bullshit with Amare and kmart, and even tyler.
Great thing about it is we have the luxury to wait. But we are kidding ourselves thinking we can win by having bigs that need extra care. Knicks need someone that can pay every single night
Is it just the photo or has Amar'e gained quite a bit of weight? It's probably muscle, but that cant be good for his knees (plus last time he gained a lot of muscle, his game really suffered for it in the lockout shortened season.
