It doesn't matter he was still a Knick until the end of the season.

He played bad at the end of the season and I'm not saying he threw any games but I bet it just didn't pop in his head in 10 15 20 25 days and decide to be the Nets coach. Even you should be smarter than that.

I think he was planning all the while to be the Nets coach and my question is could it have effected his playing. I think its a good question.

a lot of vodka kidd and russian can drink in 20 days!!!
my thinking is that it all came together in those 20 or 25 days after knicks lost to pacers,
kidd was always going to be a head coach, i think this is a case where the cosmos came together and the unicorns and it's all game theory/aliens and shit,
and that's where we are now
i think maybe when kidd was drunk driving he probably did this because he was a bag of bones and destroyed our team in the playoffs
holy shit that was an opportunity to banter with papabear, real live banter opportunities abound
Kidd DUI was prior to LAST seasons training camp.
No doubt Kidd had pondered being a coach for some time. Its not something you just wake up one morning and ponder a career change.
Kidd had a 3 year deal with us, I assume he thought he'd play as long as his body held up. it did not.
I also would assume the knicks knew his desire to segway into a coaching career and perhaps this was a possibility in the knicks organization at some time.
Papa, maybe the nets didn't steal him as much as the Knicks let him go? Nyets stepped up and handed him the keys to a true contender. Not sure knicks were ready for that, or that its premature. They got Lawrence Frank to be his top assistant. It will be interesting!
Don't forget Deron was pulling for him to join the nets last year but knicks stepped up with much bigger money. I think this was discussed but Avery was the coach and it might have been uncomfortable for Kidd to be in his lockerroom and then take the job.
