Knicks · What will the Knicks record be without JR Smith (page 1)

Nalod @ 10/24/2013 12:36 PM
Bargnani will step up.
playa2 @ 10/24/2013 12:56 PM
1ST 5 GAMES without JR.

HOME-Milwaukee
AWAY-Chicago
HOME-Minn
HOME Charlotte
AWAY-Charlotte

ChuckBuck @ 10/24/2013 12:59 PM
Chicago will definitely be a loss, and we'll probably split with Charlotte on the home at home.

3-2

smackeddog @ 10/24/2013 1:21 PM
I'm prepared for a slow start. No JR, questionnable/rusty Amar'e and K-Mart. Just feels like we're not quite ready yet.

I have no idea at all what happens. All teams are improved and Minny gets Love and Ricky back. They are well coached.

New season has no few carry overs.

Charlotte has health problems at center but they are focused on defense so far.

3-2 or 2-3 is likely.

The teams that can jump are the ones who have early chemistry. Chicago got a ton of talent but are they healthy and is it clicking.

Melonoma @ 10/24/2013 3:39 PM
This team is deep, I'm not concerned.
skeng @ 10/24/2013 3:42 PM
I'm not worried about us with or without JR to be honest. More minutes for Shump and to some extent Udrih
Bonn1997 @ 10/24/2013 3:46 PM
JR adds a little depth but isn't that important
dk7th @ 10/24/2013 3:48 PM
the larger issue will remain team chemistry. last year kidd went very far to ensure a semblance of chemistry when he still had beginning of the season legs. we don't have a guy of kidd's caliber as far as creating chemistry this season.

the roster is clumsy. smith is part of that clumsiness. i expect things to look disjointed most of the time with a few plays here and there of what looks like a real team out there, just enough to keep most fans hopeful that this motley crew will gel. i am pessimistic.

woodson will be making a big mistake if he puts andrea and melo out on the court together.

gunsnewing @ 10/24/2013 4:31 PM
JR will only disrupt
azamatbagatov @ 10/24/2013 6:14 PM
4-1
IronWillGiroud @ 10/24/2013 6:52 PM
i don't see jr swag as a guy that will win you or lose you games, he's sort of just there, neutral,

yea, he can drop buckets, but he can also be cold like a fish,

i predict 3-2, not because of jr absence but because that's just what we'll start with

The biggest thing Kidd did early was hit 3pt'ers. The 2nd thing was keep the ball moving and 3rd some timely steals on D. It's hard to say what the chemistry will be this year since we have yet to really see the team working on all cylinders yet. Some minor injuries have kept us from seeing the SL consistently. On one can say for sure just what the SL of Felton, Shump, Melo, Bargnani and Tyson will look like at this point. We've barely seen them play together. As for JR, since we have a deeper team his being out early may not have much impact. When the games count this team will pump up their intensity. They should go 4-1.

I caught somebody sleeping choosing the the 5-1 category in the poll. LOL it's only 5 games

LOL yea, YOU caught THEM!

playa2 @ 10/30/2013 7:24 PM
I say we get our lumps while winning some games. 3-2

JR has the ability to ignite the team with his shot and "WOWSA" attitude when he scores big shots.

playa2 @ 11/5/2013 9:27 AM
Now we see how big a drop off in production we have when JR is out.

Depends what JR you're getting- the one we got during that end of season win streak was very important. Unfortunately, with that comes stretches with the other, not so good JR.

I think we need another scorer, but I'm unsure how he's going to look when he gets back, and how long it's going to take for him to get back up to speed. Alas with his knee he's more likely to drive less and shoot more.

Well like Jr mentioned, it may have been a blessing in disguise, he had more time to rehab.

IronWillGiroud @ 11/6/2013 3:43 AM
I realize now that we really miss JR! He's the only other guy that can SCORE for us. JR/Melo doesn't win you a championship, but it does drop buckets in the regular season.

I can't wait for this guy to come back.

You're getting the JR we've seen his whole career. There will be some great and some hideous stretches, and his overall numbers will be mediocre.
