That's basically what people are asking for when talking about MWP in place of Bargs. Still the Bucks killed us at PG, SG and SF with no PF, so Melo will still be in trouble along with our PG who also gets killed. We can't let teams shoot 52% and 62% from 3 and ever expect to win.

thats the bottom line from me. Bargs and Melo arent good on defense. I dont like the idea of starting two BAD defensive players. Instead, add Artest to play the wing, hide melo at the 4 and brings AB in on the 2nd unit to play against weaker players

this was my concern with bargnani...it wasnt his skill set...it was his effort. its not even a numbers thing with bargs. you can tell my WATCHING him that hes lethargic on the defensive end

i'll be hoenst with you, i'm sick of bargs already,

he's just a big loofah loafer

lol already? You were his biggest supporter man!

lol yea the honeymoon i think is ending,

still excited for opening tip but i'm keeping bargs on a really short leash,

he didn't show the hot balls fire in preseason that you expect from a guy that's getting a second chance at life

callmened @ 10/24/2013 8:43 PM
people kept on saying a change in environment will help him play better...um, i guess. isnt that fire supposed to come from inside.

hey im not giving up on him but i dont like what i see so far

Bargnani IMO isn't the source of the problem, he's just the scapegoat. As I pointed out Bargnani wasn't getting lit up it was the other Knicks players who were getting scored on. The issue was letting guys hit jumpers all day Butler (24), Ridnour (18), Mayo (22) and Neal (15). That wasn't Bargnani, that was our perimeter players letting guys score on them with slow rotations and poor spacing on D. The Bucks shot 62%d from 3 so how is that on Bargnani?

Woodson seems to be very fond of him. His coach for Italy was praising him prior to his getting sick. Hopefully he is just working himself back into shape and adjusting to his new team.

Iman should be paired with MWP for defensive reasons, could work with Kmart or Chandler at Center depending on match ups

JR (when healthy) should be paired with AB with JR's ability to penetrate/facilitate and AB to spread the floor and PnR/PnP

Would just allow better chemistry, gameflow, and a better philosophy/fit with the players on the floor, hope Woodson realizes this and doesn't continue to be stubborn and force the issue

In my opinion,
AB just doesn't fit well with Chandler as they are both slow, not real shot blockers, consistent rebounders, and more importantly don't compliment each other skill sets (they are just opposite/ 1 dimensional players/skill sets)

I disagree. You haven't seen them play enough to know for sure what the chemistry will be with Bargnani and Chandler. I warn once again not to make up your mind based on what you see in preseason games. Skill wise AB and Tyson do make sense, since they both help each other where they are weak and AB can play off the ball allowing Tyson to still be the pick man in PnR while AB spaces the floor. It's just not true that they don't compliment each other. Defensively they have to learn to work with each other against small lineups. I want to see the starting lineup actually play for a while before making any hasty decision that it can't work. Felton, Shump, Melo, Bargs and Tyson have barely played together yet and already people are saying it's a failure.

I kind of agree about Bargs. He really hasn't been bad, but his 3 pt shooting hasnt been there and he hasn't been very intense. Maybe it can be chalked up to pre season, but if he is what he's shown so far he should be coming off the bench.
SupremeCommander @ 10/25/2013 11:16 AM
Briggs - that's the starting lineup i envisioned after the MWP and Bargnani moves. I feel like Bargs is in the starting lineup because he is a former #1 overall pick

I am going to have to disagree.

I like having Bargs with Melo --- we have only seen it a little due to being preseason but I think we will see Bargs and Melo run a 2 man game a little more in the regular season. it is almost unguardable.
