Last night I found myself going in between games with the Knicks and the Nets. The Nets looked great. Name deffination and players we can identify with on the Nets. They beat up on the Heat. Then turning back to the Knicks with sloopy plays just a jump shooting team with no set plans. Listen I played basketball and I learned the game well. We had set plays and many of them. The Knicks just don't look like a team who went to training camp. And Woody is being Dolan's flunky. I will always be a Knicks die hard fan but I can't speak for other people who are watching the Nets play. I never turned to a Nets game but I'm doing it now. It's time for Dolan to sell the team to some one who wants to win a championship. Oh yes the garden lots beautiful. But what about the Knicks?

Yankees fans like to say the same thing, conveniently forgetting everything in between 1980 and 1995.

U mean 1986 to 1990 don't u??

I did mean 1986 but I stand by 1995. You couldn't find a Yankee fan anywhere until 1996 when all of a sudden they were everywhere.

Good teams will always be the story over bad ones in the short term...but would you argue because of the mid 80s this is a mets town? Or because the Islanders and Devils had a dynasty this isn't a Rangers town?

I would argue that the only reason it's a Yankees town is because of their success since the mid-90s, especially compared to the Mets.

How these young fans will be able to buy this astronomically prized Garden tickets?
Who the f..ck cares about young fans or any Knicks fans for that matter?
MSG is entertainment organization. Knicks team is a group of clowns providing some specific part of the program.
Celebs, all this charity comedy, Melo and 1, Smith and Drags, Stat and medicine, etc. Perfect drama and good laugh.
All this has nothing to do with the game of bbal.

Enjoy the Nets after this season- locked in salary cap hell, old declining players and no draft picks at all for the foreseeable future!

mr nard dog

you already know where i be on this,

once a fan, always a fan; it's the hand we were dealt,

at the same time i can understand the modern young person, they are quick to hop and step away,

they have options, nets are coming up like filthy animals,

it's going to be tight

Sorry for the late response. I read it earlier and forgot to respond. I do agree with you 100% though. Should be interesting to see how things end up this season; I definitely think the Knicks will have a better regular season record than the Nets but I think the Nets will go further in the playoffs if healthy.

How? They'll be capped out and have no draft picks- how are they going to add any pieces around those guys? Their draft pick situation is even worse than ours!:

2014 first round draft pick to Boston

2014 first round draft pick to Atlanta

2014 second round draft pick to Philadelphia

2015 first round draft pick to Atlanta

2015 second round draft pick to Atlanta

2016 first round draft pick to Boston

2016 second round draft pick to L.A. Clippers

2017 first round draft pick to Boston

2017 second round draft pick to Atlanta

2018 first round draft pick to Boston

Deron Williams is Marbury Mark 2- he is going to be a headache as they start to decline. They should have cap space in 2016, but likely between now and then they'll add some crappy contracts in a desperate attempt to just make the playoffs (much like we used to do!).

Die hard fans stick to their teams.

Nets can grab a whole new generation of fans that grew up knowing only the knicks suck. The causual fans money is just as green.

If Nets win a championship the city is theirs. Its about winning.

Pierce and Garnnet if on the knicks would be accepted and cheered. Nets are built to dismantle Miami, question is can they get to ECF's? Are they built to beat other teams?

They are very deep. They should finish 1st in atlantic and grab a top 4 seed.

After that, who knows.

We got 82 games to sort it all out.

Bottom line is they are nearly sold out each game and have solid core and bench.

Owner gone 82mil in Taxes. Its freaking crazy, but the dude is all in on this season.

They also went outside the box to hire Kidd. Its interesting and I will watch this team not because they are brooklyn, its because they are interesting.

Young fan base has yet to have their knick "Moment" so they will attach to the team that gives them that.

For most of us its "Willis game 7" and Clyde drops 19 dimes.
Or
1973.....The last harrah for one of the greatest teams of all time!
or
Bernards back to back 50/50
Or
Ewing era/Riles//94'/The dunk
or
99' and the rebel Spree

What else is there? "Coming home"??? Knicks have not done anything of significance in 14 years.

The city is up for grabs for those that don't bleed orange and blue and I say there are a lot of fans that could easily jump on that band wagon and have their "Moment'. Once you have the moment, its YOURS!!!!!

thats not right.. the nets don't have picks in 2014, but they next few years, 15,16,17 are all options to swap and the way it looks, they will be better than the hawks or boston so they will keep their lower first round picks anyway.

when you have a top flight PG, which deron is, and a Good piece at center, which lopez is, you can always build around that. both guys are still fairly young, especially lopez who is only what, 25... they can still build from there...

Greatness is something that is a quality of the player or team which is undisputed.
There is nothing great about Knicks as a team or any of the players who played and are playing for the Knicks for last 14 years.
This organization is not looking for greatness but to make money without making Dolan and his ass...kissers look even worth that thay are by having any great people around.

it isn't my imagination that the nets have two hall of fame players who were integral parts of a title team, one of whom won the finals mvp.

so again, the question for you is "who would you rather have, pierce and garnett or udrih and bargnani?"
