The Nets are huge, Miami is having trouble with their size...Indy is a big team...Chicago is big...Miami gets by on their athleticism...Houston is big...OKC is big...Memphis is big...LAC can be big...Small ball can work in some games..But come playoff time, where the game becomes a half court game, the bigger team have the advantage..It's why Indy gave Miami so much fits in the ECF...We have to give Bargs the time to get comfortable...It might come down to go big or go home...

You can go big but you need skilled bigs. Knicks do not have that.

He sucks at everything
If anyone who is down on Bargs was paying attention to the Bulls game when he had the ball you saw how frustrated Noah was trying to guard him. He hates trying to guard AB because it takes him away from the basket and exposes him. He got beat by AB pump fake and quick jumpers. Bigs in general will have issues with AB and that's the little edge we could use in a playoff series. None of them want to come out and guard him.
AB may not rebound but his defense has been far better than some want to give him credit for. He's a good man defender and he's trying to give a better effort on D so far. All this and we still haven't seen AB at his best. If we can get him back to full confidence in his game he's gonna be a problem for teams. No he's not a perfect player but there is a role for him in the scheme of things for this team.
Bargs isn't a good rebounder but his size can affect inside play...He can be disruptive..We need that guy..Detroit also has gone big and is playing well...Everyone seems to be responding to Miami's weakness and Indy's play seemed to have exposed that...Over matched Melo at the 4 won't work this year...

Going big and playing big is two different things. Some teams like miami go small and play big. Knicks go big and play small. Knicks go small and play even smaller. Pick your poison.
Bargs and artest are key. Regardless if bargs plays or not....the other teams pf must leave the paint and play defense. Its about our team chemistry on both ends. So far iso ball and melo forcing his offense is our biggest weakness. It deflats the team overall. Even if he's hot. Too much standing and no movement which hurts offensive chemistry. Melo is the best and worse player to have if he's your best player. Woody needs to create quick plays for melo. Melo needs to stop forcing against elite defenders. Thats when he should run pick and rolls with chandler or barbs.
Regardless of whether or not we play big, other teams are putting bigger lineups out there...Melo @ the 4 and Prigs in the staring lineup against the Nets, Indy, Memphis, etc?, we wont have a chance...
But Bargs isnt a big man sure he is tall but when a guy plays 25 minutes and gets 1 rebound at PF you are not playing big

I would approach Houston. They have a lot of young PFs.

woodson can tell melo to make quicker decisions but that does not mean melo will do that.

woodson will success where they have failed or maybe we just admit melo is just not a good decision-maker period. he's had ten years to develop but has basically flatlined.
take the last play in chicago. he gets the ball with five+ seconds left and waits a full two seconds, maybe three before launching. he has to to put the ball on the floor right away but no-- we get a 25-foot brick instead from downtown when a two-point basket or a pair of free throws will do.
but you're right melo is much more effective off of screens, especially two brush screens going from right to left free throw line extended. the other shot he excels at is that spin move to the right baseline from about 12-15 feet out. woodson should be drawing up those sorts of plays in endgame situations. take the decision-making out of melo's hands!
