Rest from what? He played a grand total of 11 minutes in the Bulls game and didn't even play the first game! And he needs rest after 2 days of rest between games?! This is really getting ridiculous. What are we saving him up for? 10 minutes every 3rd game??? This will disrupt our chemistry and it's really proving to be a annoying sideshow. I'm so tired about hearing about this guy and after Boozer demolished him I don't really want to see him on the court for his 10 minute spurts of relevance either. I wish he would just walk away from basketball already.

I think this crap we are pulling will hurt the team more than anything. If the dude can not even play 10 minutes every other game have him retire and actually help the team for once. If he retires how does that help our cap this summer?
I don't even pay attention to Amare when he is on the court..It's like he isn't even there..He is done...Melo says he is trying to recruit players to come here...Maybe he thinks/knows Amare will retire if he can't go this season..

I wish I could do this. The multiple turnovers on spin moves from the post and multiple points he gives up to whoever he is defending makes that hard.
He still gets paid if he retires? If he does you would think your pride would be hurt by being this awful
Thank goodness they're keeping the condition of his knees from us- we don't suspect a thing!

Agree. Not sure what the purpose is of his going on the court and being out of sync for ten minutes until he breaks down.
If Amare can only play 10 minutes, twice a week, he may as well shut it down.
Give his December minutes to Cole Aldrich.
Give his February minutes to Jeremy Tyler.
I concur completely. If this is the norm, the Knicks shouldn't waste a roster spot on him.
Is there any any evidence at all that he actually NEEDS rest? Or are we now buying he Knicks PR? Amare wont play becuase Woodson won't play him.

Really, it's because Woodson won't play him and not because he has fragile knees?
I do think he needs to be on a Bicycle before he plays on the days that he does play. Is there room for a bicycle? Maybe then he will be warmed up and won't come in cold turning the ball over.
Mike Woodson?
Microfracture surgery is forever
Maybe they are saving him for the playoffs?

Very well could be their thinking but I don't think you can approach it like that. For a team with championship aspirations, I'm sorry but the regular season is super important. Arguably just as important as the post season. Who wants to get to a position where you don't have home court in a big playoff series? Not me. Every game is a MUST WIN from now on, as far as I'm concerned. If these dudes are really serious about a championship, that's how you gotta think. Now if that's the approach then it's gotta be all hands on deck...I really think we're gonna need Amar'e to get to where we wanna go, especially if other players prove they aren't up for the challenge...He's the only interior scoring presence on this whole friggin' team! Now you're telling me he's not gonna play regularly? And he appears to be healthy???? Come on, Woody...Nobody wants to hear that crap, esp. with the way Bargnani's looked so far. Dust STAT off and get him out there!!! You wanna start him off going 10-15 mins a night just to get him up & running again -- fine. No problem.. BTW -- he's also shown so far that every time he's returned from injury, he's rusty as hell and it's a lengthy process to get him back to where he was before...So there's that to consider.. Can't waste any valuable time here -- get him out there on a regular basis and start building him back up!! We need him right now!!! I mean he's not gonna play tomorrow and our last game was Thursday... WTF is that?? That's 2 full days. That's not enough rest between games??
Last yr I was all about getting the best seed possible. We got the 2nd seed! And it blew up in our faces. This year I don't care if we finish 8th. Get it done in the playoffs
Not going to happen since Miami Brooklyn Indy and Chicago are superior. They have size. We don't stand a chance
I have a strong feeling Mills will trade Shumpert this year. Unfortunately it will be for a player who only makes us marginally better. 2nd rd and out AGAIN
I'm so sick of this shit. Don't even play him if he's going to sit out every other game.

I think that might be the thought but Amare doesn't appear to have much left. When he plays in the post he has to use his knees a lot more then when he was shooting a jumper or finishing on the break. I think you go for it with Anare. If he holds up you have a great run and if he doesn't you move on. Maybe they can get docs to diagnose an issue like they did with Cutino and force Amare to retire. Amare is done or he plays. He isn't a second rounder that you give 10 minutes a night in hopes that he becomes a player with some experience.
I can't believe this but,
Amar'e is done.
I can't believe it

Agreed.

Wishful thinking? This would be a very respectful thing for Amare to do, particularly since he will still get paid. Doubt it helps our cap situation, but his contract will be expiring anyway.
